Excellent

The hotel has a friendly welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The restaurant offers a really excellent three course meal with lots of wine choices.

Refus d'ouvrir la piscine avec une belle météo : soleil et 24°C.....Contraitrement à ce qui m'a été annoncé par téléphone :( Chambre très froide. Pas de thermostat dans la chambre, une chambre a 18°C en arrivant, et pas de chauffage de toute la nuit, résultat : sommeil sous trois couvertures….. Une belle araignée dans le lit lorsque je l'ai ouvert ! Pas d'eau chaude pour le thé au petit déjeuner, obligé de chercher quelqu'un pour en obtenir…. Hôtel pour clients peu exigeants….

Cadre tres agreable et calme, jolie cour interieure avec piscine, les chambres sont tres bien entretenues. Le petit dejeuner est excellent, beaucoup de produits frais, maison et bio, le restaurant est a conseillé egalement. Merci pour votre accueil des pls sympathique.

Excellent option in the Loire

The hotel is fantastic! It's ran directly by the owners, giving the guests a totally customized and personalized experience. The rooms are very confortable and the food is excellent !

Beautiful hotel -- wonderful hosts, delicious food

We (4-person family with 19 and 21 year old sons) stayed at the Hotel La Tonnellerie for 2 nites during our stay in the Loire Valley. When we first pulled up, the hotel did not look as we expected (very unassuming), but when we went inside it was lovely. Like a vintage French home with a beautiful courtyard area, pool, inside and outside dining. The owners are lovely people that speak excellent English. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable. There is no air conditioning but we loved having the windows open and used the in-room fan to muffle any outside noises. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms were renovated and plenty of hot water. Our boys loved the pool and that is was open until 10PM. Some of the other hotels we had visited closed the pool at dinner and we were rarely back from site-seeing until a little later. There are also some hiking paths in the area, so my husband enjoyed his morning runs. The only thing for tourists to be aware of is that Tavers is a really small town without much to do. The first night we walked to the next town (about 1.5 miles) for exercise and dinner and found a few cute restaurants. The 2nd night we ate at the hotel and it was the best dinner of our entire trip! The daily breakfast buffet was delicious. They also offer a picnic service if you want to bring lunch on your trip during the day. Can't say enough good things about the service from the owners of this small hotel. Highly recommend!

A gem worth the detour. Book a table for dinner!

I have been looking forward to rewarding the owners of the Tonnellerie with the glowing review they deserve. I loved discovering this wonderful hotel that feels like a 5star hotel (the attention to detail and to the customer experience) but with a cosy and personable feeling. The room was decorated with antiques, large and airy and cosily decorated. The bathroom style didn't match either in style or in beauty but was very clean and had some thoughtful touches. The restaurant is only open to hotel clients and delivers a wonderful experience of fresh, home cooked meals with local ingredients and a good wine list. We enjoyed our aperitif in the lunge with a jazz record on the turntable. The garden is small but beautiful and the owners' care for quality and service shine through everything you experience during your stay and they are committed to delivering an increasingly sustainable service. I enjoyed buying wine and homemade jams I had tasted during my stay and will definitely come back if I am in the area (I would actually make quite a detour to say there again) and will recommend it warmly to friends and family. Thank you!

Excellent Hotel and Restaurant

The hotel offers friendly, excellent service and nicely appointed rather spacious guestrooms. The hotel is situated in a small village so most attractions can be easily reached by car or bike.The hosts and staff are professional and charming. The restaurant features locally sourced menus and a lot of options on the wine list. The breakfast also features locally produced cheeses and confections and well worth the price.

Hotel muito bem mantido, quem olha de fora não dá o valor que merece... tudo muito bem mantido e uma calorosa recepção, algo que não écomum na França para estrangeiros. A comida deliciosa, todos muito simpáticos e prestativos, e cada detalhe do hotel minuciosamente cuidada. Vale a visita, devíamos ter ficado mais uma noite... Adoramos!
