"One of the beautiful properties on earth. Yup. Walk into the back through the hotel and you’ll get it. Quiet luxurious great food and location. Only weakness was a very badly supervised and managed pool area with staff congregating in the indoor bar area ignoring customers by the pool sometimes for over an hour. Happened everyday for 8 days so a persistent problem. "

"This hotel was so welcoming! A great "suburban" location if you don't want to be in the heart of a busy city. It is relaxing, not bustling, which is exactly what I was looking for. They were exceptionally helpful when I had a couple of special needs. Highly recommended. "

"Breakfast was good, with a good menu to order hot food as an al a carte. Pool was beautiful with comfortable sun loungers. The team made me a picnic to celebrate my birthday in the beautiful gardens, it was excellent. good selection of drinks to help yourself throughout the stay. I felt that the rooms needed a good refurbishment. Dirty carpets and walls. I was disappointed as this was supposed to be a luxury stay. we had to move rooms and there were mattress issues and leaking air conditioner. I did feed this back to management. "

"The Newlands Guest House, a charming place built in 1836, has all necessary modern amenities including a swimming pool. Sarah and John, the proprietors, were the perfect hosts. They were very friendly & helpful with info about local places to see & dine at. We began each morning with a hearty meal, with hot & cold selections. Our room was very spacious and clean. Their cats & dog were a bonus. Our room opened onto a delightful garden. We had a wonderful three night stay at NGH, & would gladly return."
