"The hotel uses a little too much air freshener and the layout is odd with the three separate buildings. You have to walk half a mile just to get to the beginning of the pier and there is only one overpriced restaurant available for breakfast. "

Staff was professional, incredibly helpful and kind. Big shout out to John at the front desk. Although not assured with the request, I was able to upgrade our room because he knew we needed this, as we requested and it was accommodated by the time we arrived. The room upgrade made our stay so nice. Having a suite with bedrooms was a game changer. Full kitchen. Large table for enhanced fellowship. The hotel area is In a neighborhood. Didn’t expect that. Folks walking their dogs, pushing strollers and walking out for a meal. Great location for walking to amenities. Although we had to Uber to most places, it was mostly short rides. And I recommend using if needed. Chicago is a wonderful heartfelt city with so many places to see, great food to eat and good people. We can’t wait to come back! We will without hesitation stay at Sonesta ES! "

"Staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. Room was ready promptly and was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great, and even though it was very busy during spring break, staff did a great job accommodating the crowd by constantly cleaning tables and refreshing food. My only marks against the stay are that the pool was closed one of the days, and the elevators were being worked on, so there was often a line and a wait to use them. But the staff warned us about it upon check-in, so that made it more bearable."
