No longer called Capri inn - now Surestay by Best Western. Undergoing renovations- everything dusty, corridors with building materials, carpets filthy. Went to go out for dinner and discovered the door wouldn’t lock so one stayed behind while others went to get dinner - wrecked our plans for the evening. Took someone at least 45 minutes to come after being told they would be 15mins. We were moved to a room opposite - supposed to have been cleaned but dirty coffee mark on work top! Waited for it to be cleaned before moving. The finishingsin the hotel are of a poor standard, paint splashes on windows, paint on the boards, no edging on worktop and the flooring wasn’t stuck down properly. Just drive pass this place at least for the next 6 months. It probably has potential with a bit of staff training and sorting out the finishing throughout.

I would give zero stars if possible. The first problem is that The Capri changed their name. It's not called The Capri anymore and there was no signage. Finding it was stressful and difficult. The second problem is that the hotel is undergoing extensive renovations. The hallways were filthy and littered with cardboard boxes and trash. There were constant drilling and hammering sounds from the workers. I booked a room with two queen beds. The receptionist confirmed this when handing over the room key. Despite this conversation, the room we received only had one double bed. When given the correct room, it reeked of fresh paint, which is a health hazard. Fed up with this terrible experience, I received a refund and booked elsewhere. This hotel needs to fully close and reopen once renovations are complete. The conditions are appalling and unacceptable.

I e never stayed in such a dump. The place is a construction zone with drywall dust everywhere and tools/supplies left in the room. The floor was very bad, the breakfast was white toast, cereal and packaged yogurts (with no sink in the kitchen), and the bathroom looked like it was half complete then forgotten about. My realities who also had rooms booked demanded a refund, and choose to drive 4 hours back home late at night with kids rather then stay here. All this for $220!!

Keep in mind they are under renos. We showed up and got a key card to our room, which we couldn't find because they changed the numbers on the doors. Later we did noticed the little pieces of paper taped to the wall with the correct numbers. When we went into our first room, it had no amenities, no phone, fridge, microwave or tv. I went downstairs to inform them. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful and they did bring us to another room right away. It had everything that was missing from the first room except an actual peep hole in the door. Yep, just a hole in the door that anyone could look into. Yes, anyone, because the back door was never secured. The bathroom was half renovated. The counter still had pencil marks on it, which made me question the cleanliness considering it was never wiped off. The tub and surround had not been replaced and had definitely seen better days. The carpets throughout were very questionable, including in the room. My advise would be to check your room before you pay. Hopefully this will improve after the renos are complete. I did not go down for breakfast and did not stay there for our second night. I was also not able to get a refund for the second night because I booked through Expedia. I just cut my losses.

The rooms are under renovation and should not be rented. The staff does some work during the day and make the beds for guests that night.

Highly DO NOT RECOMMEND!! They were undergoing renovations which I wasn’t aware of at time of booking and I could barely get to my room due to materials and cords blocking the hallways and my door. While I was asleep someone used a key to try enter my room and if I hadn’t locked the deadbolt they would’ve been able to enter! All rooms surrounding mine were being renovated with doors left wide open day and night. Front desk admitted twice that construction crews had a master key! Alarming!! My room was already renovated too! Why would they need to get into my room!! Breakfast was also gross. Hard boiled eggs were already days old my first morning there, and they hadn’t put fresh ones out my entire 3 nights stay. Who knows how old the eggs were when I had first arrived! Bread was stale. No milk for cereal. They state free breakfast but served grey eggs. Highly DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

The hotel was under renovations. Building materials and rubbish were in the hallways. There was no tv or phone in the room, it was still being renovated. I called the hotel around 5pm to see if I needed to advise them that I would be arriving late and there was no mention of renos. Upon arrival, the desk clerk was checking in 2 other guests and when she got to me, she didn’t even ask me my name she just said I'll show you the room cause you probably won't want to check in. I was lucky and was able to get a room at another hotel.

Girl at desk was ignorant and didnt supply us with any info on the renos bring done. Nor did she tell us our room had no working phone, wifi, ac, tv, shampoo or coffee but she more then happily took our $145!! She moved us to another room but WE had to make it happen!! Capri is changing to Best Western hopefully they will be more professional in their new company!!

The property is completely gutted for renovations and they are trying to rent rooms for $200 plus a night. There is ripped out drywall and old mattresses in the hallways the doors are all off. The room they tried to rent me had a broken shower and towel rack and the carpet was stained and smelled really bad. Thank goodness I didn't prepay. She also said that if I would have called directly she would have only charged $169 plus taxes. I don't think so. Disgusting that they would even try to be open

The toilet paper holder fell off when touched. The towel bar fell off when touched. The coffee maker was missing parts so could not be used to make coffee. The TV did not work as not connected to anything. The continental breakfast had hard boiled eggs at room temperature, not on ice as they should be kept. They people we were traveling with had no pillows in there room. No TV at all in the room. A light hanging by wires. Yes the hotel was under renovation but they should not have been accepting guest as they were clearly not ready to properly have people staying there
