Be awed by the beauty of the Bay of Fires, have a relaxing day of beach fun or begin a sightseeing adventure from this town on Tasmania’s northeast coast.

Binalong Bay is a town that sits at the southern edge of the Bay of Fires, a magnificent stretch of coast with unforgettable scenery painted with a palette of white sands, orange bluffs and brilliant blue waters. Explore the town’s magnificent coastal surroundings by walking, sea kayaking, sailing or surfing. Camp by pretty lagoons and secluded coves or explore the offshore waters to make the most of Binalong Bay’s fantastic game fishing.

One of Binalong Bay’s highlights is the breathtaking Bay of Fires Conservation Area, which protects an 8-mile (13-kilometre) stretch of stunning coastal wilderness. Stroll along a section of the bay to enjoy one of Tasmania’s most renowned seaside sights. Photographers will love capturing the changing light hitting granite boulders covered in brightly colored lichens with a backdrop of aquamarine ocean waters. Swim, surf or play in the waters of this pretty bay, or simply relax on the fine white sands. Find further exciting beach destinations in Skeleton Bay, Cosy Corner, Taylors Beach and Policemans Point.

Discover the diverse marine life that flourishes offshore with a diving trip or boating adventure. Look for shearwaters and sea eagles exploring the boulder-speckled coastline, as well as whales and seals out to sea. Check the surf report and see if the swell is rolling in from one of Binalong Bay’s reef breaks. Grants Lagoon is a popular spot for power boating and watersports.

Stop by one of Binalong Bay’s cafés or restaurants or try fresh local seafood and regional wines.

The town is a popular spot for camping and caravan holidays. Pick from one of several campsites and wake up with the ocean or the lagoon on your doorstep. The town also has a collection of holiday rental homes available.

8/10 Very good! (1,001 reviews)
"I enjoyed my stay at the Panorama Hotel though there were a lack of amenities like a microwave or toaster in my room, also a lack of drawers to put your clothing in. Apart from this it is a nice place to stay at and would be happy to stay there again if I ever come back to St Helens."
