"Getting to the island involved catching the dedicated boat anchored offshore. Prepare to get wet! The journey was over an hour but with great views of Koh Ta Kiev island and others.
We were welcomed by volunteers and Giovanni gave us a brief on arrival. We were shown to our accommodation which was just off the beach.
The hut was on stilts and featured fairly comfortable beds with much needed mosquito nets, a balcony facing the sea, and complementary water.
The activities on offer were varied...

"The facilities and the building itself are a little outdated/old, but the staff do a great job in trying to maintain it. They really go above and beyond to help out their guests, even to the last minute. We forgot to schedule the shuttle to the airport on our last day but they were able to accommodate us (I didn’t catch the female guest services employee but she was very nice and helpful)! One of the male employees (Anh) was also very helpful on our first day - he gave us great directions about how to get to the big King Kong market, how to take the bus, which phone app to use to schedule the bus ride, which stores had the best exchange rate, etc. The breakfast buffet was very tasty as well, changed menus daily. I would suggest going a little early (around 7), otherwise it’s a little hard to get a seat. We would definitely come back again for another vacation!"
"The Vinpearl Resort & Spa's facility is very beautiful, the room is clean, spacious, and comfortable. Also, the staff are very kind and professional. Both my wife and I really loved to stay at this hotel. I would highly recommend it."
"Excellent location above Sunset Town Square with unobstructed fireworks from balcony every night. Superior service and will stay again and again ❤️❤️❤️"
"Rooms are old and dirty, and clearly weren’t cleaned before arrival. We found dirt under the furniture and even someone’s old underwear under a cabinet at check-in. The toilets stank. Housekeeping didn’t vacuum either — chip crumbs from day one were still there on our last day. I tipped generously every day hoping for better, but nothing changed.
Service is terrible. Ordering room service, we got condescending questions like “Who will pay? How will you pay?” At the pool, staff told us our rented float couldn’t be refunded before I’d said a word — I was simply going to rent another. They seemed to assume we couldn’t afford their services.
For a family of five, we got just two towels. After repeated requests, they said it’d take 30 minutes; when we explained we’d been asking since morning, staff challenged us and said they’d “check with housekeeping” to verify. We never once received five towels — some days two, three or four.
I could go on: locked out when the buggy driver never returned our room key, missing our airport shuttle; the wrong breakfast order three times; never being told about the vegetarian menu until our last day despite asking on day one.
The area is a ghost town too — daily essentials are hard to find. Stay somewhere more central in Phu Quoc.
We’ll never return. We weren’t treated well, and at times it felt like we were treated differently because of who we are. This is a 3-star at best. Book an international 5-star chain instead."
"First, this is definitely NOT a five star resort. Maybe 3.5 or 4 stars, but that is it. The facilities are getting very dated…we had holes in our walls, and the quality of the villas just wasn’t very good. The game room had broken pool table, only one pool cue, and there were no darts for the dart board.
The majority of the restaurants were closed, which left us with the only options of a buffet, or Spanish restaurant for dinner. There is a bar, which stops serving food at 6pm…inconvenient and the food was not great.
The best way to describe the shuttles (tuk tuks) to get around the resort is FRUSTRATING. They always quoted 10-15 minutes. And would arrive anywhere from 2 to 20 minutes. And we would be waiting outside, while empty tuk tuks drove by and wouldn’t stop for us.
Which gets me to the most disappointing part of our 5 days. The staff was awful. Apathetic and couldn’t have cared less. And it wasn’t just one area of the resort. From the restaurants (the server behind the bar couldn’t bother to come to our tables to take our order), to the omelet station who refused to make omelets to order, to the chef who, when asked for a side of syrup, seemed very put out, went to the kitchen and never returned, to the person staffing the “clinic” who refused to give any first aid when my daughter was ill. They were all awful. We went to the Sheraton one night for dinner because of poor food options and they were amazing to us!! So friendly and attentive! Go there!"

10/10 Excellent
"This is one of the best hotel in Khem beach in Phu Quoc island. Big hotel with huge swimming pool by Ocean front.. Free chair, towels, kayaks.. and restaurants in resorts. Very convenient and clean environment by the beach.
Room is clean and nice view from room. A little bit small size.. Breakfast buffet included."
"I want to start off by saying that you are definitely getting your money’s worth when you stay here. The whole experience was incredible from the very beginning. When you drive up, it feels like you’re nowhere near anything, and then once you arrive, it feels like paradise.
The staff really takes care of you. If you’re an English speaker, just be patient with them. No one has an attitude, and if you ask for something and they can do it, they definitely will.
The room I got was right in front of the sunset — Room 211. You have your own pool with an amazing view overlooking the ocean and the sunset. The food is exquisite. If you’re just starting off, I definitely recommend the Wagyu burger. The steakhouse is also great — just keep in mind that if you’re from the States, the steak may be prepared a little differently.
The general pool is great, and every time your room gets cleaned, it feels like you just arrived all over again. Overall, if I could live there, I definitely would. If you’re visiting, I recommend staying at least three days so you can truly enjoy everything the resort has to offer.
