"The hotel was untidy and shabby, the walls were full of holes, and fleas were crawling around the room. The TV was not working. The front desk staff are polite and helpful"

"The Handlery has maintained some of the original character of the hotel while updating for modern convenience. The staff are polite, helpful, and very accommodating. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, and the convenience and proximity to downtown and restaurants makes it very walkable inconvenient. Half a block to the trolley on Powell Street. Half a block to Union Square station. We would definitely stay here again for both business and pleasure."
