"This was nothing like the photos and very disappointing. The room was moldy and dark. The safety latch on the door was broken and so was the lock. We put things in front of the door while we slept because it didn't feel safe there. There were several men wandering the property and we didn't know if they worked there or not. "I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The staff was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and professional from check-in to check-out. "Very friendly and helpful staff throughout the resort including the pro shop at the golf course.
Room was exactly as pictured and expected ! Breakfast choices were plentiful. Beaches were spectacular , and for someone that has been coming down to STX for 30 years - among the best on the island. All of the restaurants were excellent and we ate at all of them. The Welcome Experience on Tuesday night and meeting the owner was refreshing and perfect. The Buccaneer is a must stay!"

"Besides the roaches, the place was AMAZING. Drinks were great, food was filling. The property was under construction, but still very beautiful. The roaches really killed the vibe though. They seem to enjoy the bathroom and the curtains the most even though they are also present in the kitchenette. I think an exterminator would do them good. The staff were very helpful and very friendly. Otherwise we had a great time. Would have been 5 stars if we didn’t have to deal with roaches in our room....
