Our stay at The king Christian hotel was awesome. It was beautiful there & the staff that checked us in were kind and courteous but the staff that relieved that staff were the complete opposite. We arrived Thursday after 6 & the last and male front desk were a delight but the ones that worked the next day in the morning had horrible attitudes.

This is THE hotel to stay in in St. Croix. It is right by the ferry to the island that has Christiansted's beach facing the harbor, so it's super easy to get to the island beach. The hotel owns the ferry, so hotel goers get to ride the roughly one-minute boat ride for free. The hotel is recently renovated and gorgeous. I especially loved the pool and the peacock room, both of which are just beautiful. We stayed in one of the alleyway rooms, which are the hotel's most basic. They have a very nice layout but I was hoping for a fancier room. On the last night, the hotel kindly gave my son and I an amazing, free upgrade to one of their nicest rooms, with a private balcony overlooking all of the boats and the island, kindly facilitated by Ms. Janeta. Their cleaning staff was especially kind, especially once my friend left and I was traveling alone with my infant son. I love the hotel and St. Croix so much that I entended our stay. The bellhops carried all of our things during our three room changes. Shoutout to their bellhop Jeff. Ms. Anne on the cleaning staff was also especially kind to us. At the front desk Shanequa was very nice to us. The 3 PM check-in can be slow and feel slightly chaotic at times, but it is worth is. The hotel's restaurant, Prime Harbour, is overpriced but good. I got the surf n' turf which was the most expensive in the area but they give you an extremely generous portion of lobster. Virgin Coffee Roasters is located at the foot of the hotel and is good.

There was no water. When I mean no water, i started choking and my husband left to buy water from a bar to help fully clear my throat. They had NOTHING downstairs. The restaurant also had a homeless guy that was comfy asking for money during dinner. No security. Nice ferry to the private island and kind front desk. WILL NOT return but it was ok.

Everything was wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The staff is wonderful. Parking is limited but there is on street parking nearby.

I had a wonderful stay at King Christian Hotel! The AC worked perfectly the entire time, which made coming back to the room after being out in the sun so refreshing. The location is truly prime—everything is within walking distance, and we loved taking morning strolls up and down the streets, soaking in the beauty of the area. One of my favorite little highlights was the nearby ice cream shop—absolutely amazing! I tried the soursop flavor and it was so good, definitely a must-try. Most importantly, I felt very safe throughout my stay, which made the whole experience even more relaxing and enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the island!

Overall my stay was wonderful. St. Croix is gorgeous. Truly the perfect location for food, shops, and the beach. Walking around, even at night, felt safe and the police presence was great.

Room didn’t have a table nor was there a table to sit at outside of the room making it difficult to eat in the room (leftovers). No microwave. I would have given the hotel a five star rating except for one night when the people next door to us in room 202 played music from midnight to 5 am. I tried knocking and then I texted the front desk several times and got no response either way. I told the front desk the next morning but they weren't very responsive to my ordeal. It is what it is. Other than that, the 3 night stay was very nice.

MAJOR miss that the website does not note that there is NO elevator available and it was third floor walk up! No mention on website that there are actually 2 separate hotel buildings and only one has an elevator. Room was clean. Housekeeping did not replenish courtesy toiletries. Great location but hotel dated, room felt like a cave since drapes broken and could not see pool or ocean view without removing drapes held on by Velcro. Pool area okay but no hot tub. I likely would try another hotel next time.

I genuinely don’t understand how this hotel manages to stay in business. From the moment I checked in, it was clear that this place is long overdue for a complete overhaul—starting with the room bathrooms, which were an absolute disaster. Poor water pressure, inconsistent drainage, flushing that looked like they hadn’t been updated (or properly maintained) in decades made even the simplest routines frustrating. The rooms themselves felt stuck in another era—and not in a charming, vintage way. Everything was dated, worn, and tired, giving off the impression that upkeep is the last thing on management’s priority list. It’s one thing to have an older property, but it’s another to neglect it entirely. What truly made the experience worse, though, was the staff. Most of the cleaning and maintenance crew were not only unprofessional but outright rude and intrusive. It felt like there was zero respect for privacy, and interactions were consistently uncomfortable. We had a flooded bathroom with a poorly draining shower and the maintenance crew asked us what we did to it vs. acknowledging that the bathroom was broken from the get go. The only exception was one older, white-haired staff member who was kind, respectful, and seemed to actually care—unfortunately, they were the lone bright spot in an otherwise unpleasant stay. Overall, this was a disappointing and frustrating experience from start to finish. I would strongly advise anyone to just go to another island!
