"Checking in took over 2 hours. The reception kept saying our rooms would be ready in 20 minutes but it wasn't true. Rooms aren't good either, towels have holes in them and air conditioning does not work. "

"The hotel looks lovely, the location is great, and the rooms were perfectly clean. The Bad: The service completely took the shine off our stay. I had emailed weeks in advance requesting that our group’s rooms be placed next to each other. We were put on the same floor but across the corridor. Frustratingly, our room actually had an adjoining door to another room, so the hotel clearly has the right layout for groups—they just didn't bother to allocate it properly despite the advanced notice. The water filter/ice machine in reception was broken. When we got back to the hotel around 9:00 PM on a weekday, I went to the bar&grill to buy large bottles of water. Even though it advertises opening until 10:00 PM, I was told it was already closed. (Lucky I didn't want food, as that would have been a disaster). I was directed to the reception fridge instead, forcing me to buy small glasses of water at a much higher expense. To make matters worse, when I went down the next morning to get water for our group, the bar refused again, and the reception fridge was completely empty and was told there was no more even though less than 10ft away were bottles in the bar fridge."

"Room was recently upgraded, clean and functional. Staff were very friendly and helpful The breakfast was very good!! The location is perfect for travelling by train to different cities...We could simply cross the street and be at the train station...We used Antwerp as our base camp!!"

"This hotel is conveniently close to Antwerp Central Station and all main tourist attractions. Check in was very easy and efficient. The room was very clean and we were to the rear of the property so it was very quiet. The bed was just divine. So comfortable and a great size. Great selection at breakfast with freshly cooked options available. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend."

"Where do I even start? When I walked in on night 1 I was greeted by an unfriendly staff member, no amenities, handed unfolded bundled up linens, no lounge no common area to speak off… was given room 905. The moment I walked into the room I was hit by a strong whiff of sweat, musty odour and smelly clothes and shoes. The room has a small ceiling light and 2 bunk beds squished together. I share with men my 4 nights. I was literally puking in the morning with the bad smell. I wanted to cry. The bunk beds had a small curtain which wouldn’t close all the way so you would be viewable from the end and also didn’t go all the way to the ceiling so if the one ceiling light was on, yiu would just have to live with it. I didn’t feel safe as a woman here. Not at all. The area itself felt quite unsafe! The room was so hot. No ac. The one window was ooen abd facing Centraal station so it was loud at night time. People had their undergarments and socks strewn across the floor abd brought back smelly food and alcohol in the room so the already smelling room smelled even worse. To top it off I read about bed bugs at other a&o hostels. If you are travelling solo and a female and want an adventure… forget about this place for your own sanity and well being. I felt so dirty and tired after staying here… I didn’t want to come back to the room after walking 20k steps every day and left around 6 and came back around 9. Never ever again. So please stay away! It’s the worst experience I have ever had!"
