Lying beneath Petka Hill, a short distance from the old town of Dubrovnik is Lapad Beach. It is one of several beaches that make up the Lapad Peninsula, a beautiful bay area where you can take part in watersports, relax on the sand and go for seaside walks along the promenade.

2. Gruz Harbor
Gruž Harbour is the main maritime entrance to Dubrovnik, a busy port for yachts, ferries and cruise ships. Near the harbor is the Dubrovnik Bus Terminal where services will take you to the Old Town, a 10-minute trip, and the outer suburbs. The large dock sits in a sheltered bay approximately 1.4 miles (2 kilometers) from Dubrovnik’s Old Town.

6. Walls of Dubrovnik
The Walls of Dubrovnik (Dubrovačke gradske zidine) are defensive ramparts that encircle much of Dubrovnik’s Old Town. Marvel at this intricate system of armory emplacements, bastions, castles and gateways built during the Middle Ages. The walls stretch for almost 1.2 miles (2 kilometers) and range from 5 to 20 feet (1.5 to 6 meters) in thickness. In popular culture, the setting has been used as a filming location for the television series Game of Thrones.
