And to this day you can go into this chapel, going down from the modern snow-white church to the beach. A new church was built today. The ancient icons that adorned the cave chapel, unfortunately, were stolen during the Turkish aggression of 1974, at present some of them are kept in the monastery of the Apostle Barnabas in Northern Cyprus.
