Mlesna Tea Centre is one of the biggest distributors of tea in Sri Lanka. I wanted to visit because I was intrigued by how its architecture is designed to look like a cute little castle. It was founded by James Taylor, also known as the Father of Ceylon Tea. He started off planting coffee as a trainee, but during the Coffee Blight crisis, switched to planting tea on his experimental plot. This marked the beginnings of the tea industry in Sri Lanka, which was then known as Ceylon. I highly recommend their tea/gift shop, which has a variety of flavours that are delicious.
