"A truly wonderful stay over the festive period. The new spa is lovely and room 452 was SO quiet and spacious, highly recommended. The only downside which I pointed out two years ago is that the shower lets the room down as it’s not powerful enough and looks dated too. A short taxi ride or lovely walk into the centre with everything you could wish for. Please note valet parking is £39.50 and the Soa £45 per person in addition to the room. "Great hotel in a great position so you can get all the site seeing in. Our room was a river view standard room very clean. We opted for breakfast and it didn’t disappoint good choice of food from a cooked breakfast, to cereal and even cake. Would definitely stay again One thing I would recommend is if you want to park at the hotel there’s limited spaces so turn up early when check out is and leave your bags at the hotel and go and enjoy a walk round York then go back and check in."

"The welcome from the the Receptionist was excellent ensured we had a suitable room to meet our needs. Hotel room was very clean and beautifully decorated. The room was heated individually, controlled in the room. Breakfast was excellent lots of hot and cold choices. Highly recommend especially due to the onsite parking which is a bonus in York. All the staff are very polite and friendly."

"Hotel was a great location, clean and warm and all the staff bar our initial welcome by a receptionist was first class ( we did not see that receptionist again - cold, abrupt and not bothered) but everyone else was amazing. The peacock bar was lovely and a nice twist on major cocktails with a Yorkshire twist and the breakfast was so nice, great staff and freshly cooked food nothing too much trouble. Would highly recommend. "
