"Terrible experience. I booked the glamping tent for my 89 year old Dad and myself. The pics made it look really good. When we arrived, we found out that the glamping tent did not have power (every glamping tent I have stayed in before had power) so no way to charge our phones and there was one little solar powered light next to a sign that said it may or may not work. The bathrooms were porta pottys located about 50 yards away across uneven terrain and the shower was out of order. The solar lights in the bathrooms didn't work either, which created a problem. My 89 year old Dad needs to use the bathroom during the night so this created a safety issue for him (walking across uneven terrain in the dark to a bathroom with no light). We found the employee on site and talked to her about the issues. She said that the solar light don't work very well but there is a bathroom building with working showers but that was about 200 yards from our room. When we explained the issue with my Dad trying to get there in the middle of the night, her solution was "you can pee in a jug". We left the property and drove to Crescent City and booked a hotel room there. I called this property and told the manager that we would not be staying there and the reasons why. I also requested a refund, which was denied."
Holiday Inn Express Klamath - Redwood Ntl Pk Area by IHG
8/10 Good
"Really limited options for dining in the small town of Klamath so the hotel's free breakfast was appreciated. Avoid the diner at the casino area though. My husband liked his burger but my chicken sandwich wasn't edible."
"Wonderful boutique hotel, a stone throw away from the ocean, with just a handful of well appointed rooms (former classrooms). The property shares a larger lot with a nicer campground part of the same organization. Quiet and peaceful overall. Note however that despite the beautiful decor and finish inside the main building, sound insulation is minimal in the bedrooms. Clean and modern bathrooms. Nice common space downstairs with couches, turntable and vinyls. However, no breakfast available. No vending machines either in the main building or around the campground. A limited selection of food, snacks and beverages is available either during opening hours (daytime) at the registration office (attached to the main building) or driving to Trinidad on the main highway (approximately 5 miles South where a limited number of very good restaurants (and Murphy's, a well appointed local grocery store) are located. Access to the ocean (beach and trails along the cliffs' edges) is through a very nice State Park (Sue Meg) a short drive North of the property ($8/day access). Beautiful vistas. However, no direct access to the ocean or any beaches directly in front of the property (private properties and cliffs). Within 10 to 25 miles to great State and National Parks immediately to the North on Hwy 101."
"The setting, tucked into the redwoods, was peaceful and beautiful. The cabin was spotless and had plenty of room. Conveniently located near Main Street, my stay was relaxing and nice."
"We really loved this place. The property is in the most amazing spot you can imagine, ya know, if you can imagine a sprawling view of the Pacific Ocean replete with rock formations and wildlife perfectly complemented by the lovely coastal landscape. The largest rock in perfect center view is home to an entire community of California Sea Lions! They play in the water and hoot and holler most hours of the day and it’s incredible! One of the coolest things I’ve ever seen and heard. Breakfast was super good and lots of snack options. I suppose it was great that the room was beautiful and fresh, but we would have been happy if it were a broom closet with how wonderfully the property delivered. We miss it already."
