"We found this place recommended on a travel blog, so we booked two nights and are so glad we did! The staff was extremely welcoming, kind and attentive. Upon our arrival, even before starting the check-in process, they invited us to relax by the pool with some tea to help us unwind. Once we were ready, they showed us to our room, which was extremely large and very clean. The pool was clean and refreshing; each time we went down to the pool the staff put out lounge chair pads and towels. We...

"This is NOT a hotel, NOR a resort. Kumari is a princess name, alas nothing royal about this rooms for rent / guest house. No toilet nor shower in room."

"Incredible helpful and friendly staff and beautiful ground. My cottage with the outdoor shower was charming. Spa facilities were not available during hours that i wanted to use them, ieri early morning and evening before and after excursion, that was sad. No pool towels also a minus. Dinner menu was expensive but nothing was very good. Breakfast however was delicious! Sri lankan menù was bevande expectation. I enjoyed my stay very much."

"Very friendly, flexible and understanding management and staff. However, the best is the food. Amazing authentic Sri Lankan food!"

"Sudu Araliya is located on the banks of the Parakrama Samudraya. It’s extensive gardens offer a peaceful place for relaxation. There is a very nice and sturdy tree house with a couple of benches and tables. A lovely place for children to play and adults to relax. Rooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean. Staff was friendly and attentive and our requests were taken care of promptly. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet with many typical Sri Lankan foods. We only spent one night there but planning...

"I have no idea why people have rated this place so high. I chose this place because she claimed to have wifi. She does not have wifi. She has a cellphone with a hotspot that she never turns on. If she does turn it on, it doesn't work when she takes the phone with her when she leaves. She also turns the phone off when she goes to sleep. I told her twice that I needed the internet to make a very important phone call late at night. She forgot. Turned off her cellphone. I had no internet,...

"Poor location. Manager speaks no English. The rooms he gave us were not ready -- no electricity. Contrary to the ads, there is no wifi or breakfast. The good news is that the owner agreed to drop one night of our reservation as well as reducing the price"

"Great view of the lake but a bit away from anywhere if you like to dine out. It was out of season so the in house menu options were limited and tourist focussed. Lovely breakfast and the room was great. "

"When I arrived I was told the hotel was closed. I took pictures to prove I was there as I had already paid through Expedia. I then had a ‘neighbour’ show up to ‘offer’ alternate accommodation at a very much more cost! The hotel is on a back street and when confronted with having to find an option on the day when I was hoping to visit the palace I conceded to the higher price. This was classic ‘bait & switch! Do not ever book this hotel!!!!"
