![Old Manor House site, Topcliffe Known as Manor Hills or Cock Lodge, this is the site of a medieval manor house belonging to the Percys. The view shows the outer ditch and bank in the foreground with the inner ditch [moat] and bank beyond. The conical mound was the site of a windmill. The manor is thought to have been erected in the 13th century and was described as 'ruinous' in a survey of the estate in 1577. "A very nice little flat 10 minutes walk away from the city centre.
Lovely thick carpets. The main bedroom is very nice indeed. Comfortable bed. Effective fan provided which was a godsend during hot weather. Kids bedroom was nice too and they loved the bunk bed set up, which was solid.
There is outdoor space however it is shared and a small shadowy courtyard. Doesn't look used at all.
The flat is a funny layout. We slept in the main room which is at the front of the flat and the kids room is...

"Very helpful, we were going to be later than anticipated arriving, phoned to let them know, they reassured us it was no problem, everything was ready for our stay.
Check-in at the bar was easy, staff showed us to our studio, staff very cheerful.
Food in the pub was great, not just pub grub.
Only downside, studio was small."
