"The room was just ok, we found the bathroom to be for short pple im short but the counter and sink seemed to be really low, a BIG downfall is no bars in the bathroom to help get up off the biffy. I also found the smell was horrendous inside and out must be a sewage place near by,this isn't the first time staying here but I'm thinking on trying another place next time. Just seen they offer breakfast we were never told about that."

"The Douglas Fir is conveniently located near public transportation, which made getting around Banff easy. However, the property itself needs significant updating. Check-in is strictly at 4:00 p.m., even when guests arrive earlier, they have a weird policy that they have to check with housekeeping at 4 PM to make sure the room is ready. "We stayed overnight because of a rescheduled flight. Staff were wonderful and the hotel was amazing. Unfortunately the check in didn’t go smoothly since neither my two credit cards or my wife’s two credit cards were accepted by their system showing “ declined “. After a 20-30 minute delay and retrying they worked which seems indicative of a temporary system failure. This was frustrating after a lengthy flight from Europe. "Very good value for the money; close to the airport. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful at check in; and assisted me in printing my boarding passes. Continental Breakfast included in room price, and each room has a small kitchenette. Hotel was very clean and despite being close to the airport, relatively quiet. I could hear the planes taking off but it was not too intrusive; especially if the fan was running in the room."

"This property was just purchased by the owners. It was not updated prior to sale and needs a lot of cosmetic work. The room was functional but the beds were very comfortable for the two nights we got to stay there. Staff were very good and friendly. Previous owner had not marked us down as arriving on the 12 June so we had to wait for a room to be readied. Gave us a chance to get some refreshments for our stay."
