"Our AC didn’t work the first night. They did repair it pretty promptly, but we ended up having to change rooms and they gave us a small credit for that inconvenience. Everything was relatively clean, but it is an older hotel with dark carpet. I kept my socks on. The bathroom was very clean. I did see a roach in the middle of the night in the bathroom. "Hotel hits all the 5 star spots apart from 2 points. 1 - the rooms are not soundproof at all, and being able to hear the conversations in the room next door so clear that i could repeat what they were saying is not what i would expect. Second - the front desk staff are not as polished and committed to the level of service i would expect from a top end 5 star hotel. Doormen were top class. All in all it's a good hotel, but with so much choice in NY, i have stayed in better."
