"Clean room , helpfull stuff"

"Room was run down and scuzzy, small flying bugs coming out of the bathroom sink. Towels were stained or unwashed- one had hairs stuck in it, several more had stains or smudges, and all of them attracted the bugs from the sink. Neighbors were loud, playing music all night, and it seems like a bunch of people live here vs just staying for a night or two. Swing lock was broken (found this out when we tried to open the door after using it and it was stuck) and the door looked like it had been broken into before. We survived and don't seem to have picked up any bugs in our luggage, but if we hadn't prepaid before we arrived, we definitely wouldn't have stayed here."

"Parking was very easy, in the front of our motel’s room. AC on a noisy side, but nothing terrible. Shower cabin rather tight but a room nice and a decent size. Room was clean. I liked chairs and a small table in the front of the room and tables/chairs at the pool. There was too much light polution for stars gazing, but a nice place to sit outside in the evening."

"There are two big trash pits right beside the rooms. They smell bad, and attract bugs, roaches and rats. There is NO reason why this should happen. Also, there are many trip hazards as shown in the picture. Room was fine, but I stayed in this same room 2 years ago and it had the same broken thermostat! It just shows that ownership doesnt care and that just trickles down to maintenance and lack of upkeep. If ownership doesnt care, employees wont either. This place is becoming a real slum which is sad. "

"Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The modern room was spacious, comfortable and clean. (Its small refrigerator did not have a freeze compartment, which would have been helpful for thermal packs.) On occasion, there was some sort of sharp noise (not terribly loud), which sounded like equipment or facilities. ? Have no idea what, but was curious and a bit of a nuisance. The lounge/gift shop area was attractive. Coffee options near there were great, though I feel regular coffee should be included for guests as part of room cost. I didn’t take advantage of the outdoor fire pit or the pool/hot tub but they all appeared great. The list of recommended restaurants given to me at check in included one that was permanently closed, which I found out when I drove over to it for dinner. Also, the box of tissues in the bathroom only had one left so I had to wait a bit at the front desk while a fresh box was retrieved. Overall, very good. The second time I have stayed there to visit Joshua Tree and would likely stay again."
