Nick's is great. Loved it all. Great staff, close to shopping, Ubud is a whole different world to anywhere I've been. Breakfast included was simple but superb. Beautiful surroundings. There is no parking except scooter. Believe me you don't t want to drive a car in Bali.

Nick’s Hidden Cottages is an Absolutely spectacular deal. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The location is nestled in and overlooks gorgeous rice fields. It is minutes away from shopping and fantastic restaurants. A total gem !

revamp needed and plentiful tips expected
mixed feelings about this , the room and bed were comfortable although the interior was shabby and didn’t look very clean . There was marks on the wall and it could have done with s coat of paint also the linens and mosquito net were very discoloured . The pool was ok although after the first day there were no pool towels and you had to use the very grey bath towels . I basically felt that the staff just all wanted tips , actually it tells you in the hotel handbook that the staff have a low salary so tips are appreciated . It also tells you that your in Indonesia so things are cheaper for you . Whilst I appreciate they may have a low salary and I would be happy to tip it just felt you should do this all the time , and staff were only kind or only spoke to you if you did this .Actually on the last day I had no cash which proved my point , to leave the hotel there are several flights of steps . The guy said he’d help me with my luggage I said I’m sorry I have no money to give you , he turned around and walked of leaving me to struggle . I would have happily and freely given more tips than I did but the underlying feeling of it constantly being wanted was off putting . Breakfast was ok but there were lots of ants on the table . The choice is quite limited , the waiter was good and I happily tipped him . The location was ok aside from the hawkers that lines the street and were on your case as soon as you left the hotel. Found Ubud to be very touristy with everyone wanting money

The exterior of the rooms is quite unique and peaceful, however I found the inside very uncomfortable - old, stained sheets and curtains, musty smell, ants, no shower curtain so water goes everywhere, slow drains ... I wouldn’t recommend, unfortunately.

Amazing, unique, lovely
Amazing unique accommodation. To get to the hotel you have to cross a rice field. Once there the property is set in lovely grounds with lots of little cottages and traditional Indonesian architecture. Rooms reasonably basic but clean and comfortable. Lovely pool as a place to cool down after a hot day in ubud. Walkable to ubud Central and the monkey forest. Probably one of my fave places that I've ever stayed. Definitely not just another hotel.

A Hidden Paradise
Perfect stay and well beyond my expectations. Close to everything, free daily water bottles, clean, beautiful swimming pool, delicious breakfast included, air conditioning, helpful staff. The only downside for me was the internet very slow and i was unable to watch netflex or any video, however it well desrves 5 stars from me.

Etwas abseits von all dem Trubel, aber innerhalb weniger Gehminuten sind Restaurants, Spas, Supermärkte erreichbar. Zum Monkey Forest auch nur rund 10 Minuten. Anlage in schönem traditionellen Stil. Zimmer großzügig. Personal sehr freundlich.

Nice hotel with old world charm
Staff were great and my room was excellent. It takes a long time to get hot water though so I didn't bother and just had a cold shower as it is so hot. Bisma Street runs parallel to Monkey Forest and is a little more quiet so it was a good place to be. There is a shortcut to Monkey Forest through Nick's Pension just up the street so it cuts down on the walking. The whole place was quite clean in general. The only thing I would pick on was that my bed had a duvet but no top sheet so I wondered how often that duvet cover was changed (hopefully before the next guest at least!) Also the tablecloths in the restaurant were a bit grubby. Very happy with my stay though.

Absolute hidden gem! Couldn't recommend it enough. Location is great, off a main road so really calm but so close to the center, really perfect! What made this place so great was the staff, they were trained like a 5* hotel, so friendly and would do anything to make our trip comfortable. Also massive plus is the inclusive breakfast and tea which are both delicious! The hotel has a restaurant that is really worth a visit. Better than some overpriced Indonesian restaurants in town. I loved my stay here and can't wait to go back!

Hidden jem in great location!
Stayed for four nights ..two rooms as we have teen girls. We were beyond happy to stay here. Pictures on their website could not compare to the being there. Just beautiful and so quiet. Loved the warm welcome and the cool towels! Breakfast was great with lots of selection. Loved the complimentary afternoon tea by the pool. Staff were so helpful! They booked a driver to take us to two temples and the elephant sanctuary. Highly recommend Nicks Hidden Cottages.

PARADISE
Nick's Hidden Cottages is the place we will go to again for a relaxing holiday in Ubud. The staff and service at Nicks was faultless. The staff were always ready with a smile and a wave. The breakfast was delicious and the couple of times we had our evening meal in the restaurant was also delicious and well presented. The pool area is very clean and inviting. The gardens in the grounds are well maintained and beautiful with butterflies, birds and other life flitting around. The position of the Cottages is very central to Ubud. It is about a 5 to 10 minute walk to the markets and the shopping strip. A 10 minute walk to the Monkey Forest and about 15 to 20 minute walk to the amazing Blanco Art Musuem. There are numerous places within walking distance. The early morning is an ideal time to take a walk through the rice fields (about 1 1/2 hours). Nicks do offer a free shuttle service into Ubud centre if walking is not what you want.

great place within walking distance to Ubud shops
Stayed for 2 nights (family of 2 adults and 1 teenager). The pool was well used, and we used the on-site restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Limited menu choice for dinner, and limited drinks choice for non alcoholic. We walked everywhere and it was close to the main hub and shops of Ubud. Spa across the road, and restaurants on same road. They also provided us with a driver for travel to our next destination. Very friendly and interested staff, great presentation. Although on the side of a hill, the layout is great. The pool area is really nice.

Notre meilleur séjour en Indonésie!
Dès l'arrivée, le personnel est aux petits soins! C'est l'établissement que nous avons préféré pendant notre séjour en Indonésie (sur 7 établissements). Emplacement idéal, à 10 minutes à pieds de l'effervescence de la ville et du coup au calme. Un "welcome back home" de la part du personnel à chaque retour, des activités gratuites proposées par l'hôtel (ce qui est rare en Indonésie!!), telles qu'un trek dans les rizières ou encore une balade à moto (merci Budi :) ). La piscine est top, le petit déjeuner très bon et copieux, nous recommandons fortement cet endroit à Ubud. Le seul petit point négatif est le réseau wifi un peu faible.

Nicks sets a standard for service that few can ever hope for. Facilities are beautiful. It's a bit of a walk into central ubub but then it is very quiet at night. Not a great choice for party hardy all night long. Super for romantic couples and families

Good value in Ubud
Nick's had some of the friendliest staff in Bali. Nick helped my girlfriend out with some medicine when she was feeling sick and they did everything they could to accommodate us. The room was just ok. The windows didn't close all the way so bugs could get in easily. The toilet wouldn't stop running and made an annoying sound, and the shower opens into the bathroom, getting water everywhere (I know this is typical, but is was especially bad here with the angle of the shower head). The pool was divine and the breakfast was decent. The location is not too bad. It takes about 10 minutes to walk into town, but the road there is in miserable shape.

When our driver stopped at the front of Nick's we were slightly worried. But arriving inside the compound after a short walk between rice paddies, we were greeted by warm and welcoming staff and all our worries disappeared. The staff at Nick's were fantastic. They really seemed to love their jobs, made us feel very special and nothing was ever too much trouble! Purely based on the staff I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Our room felt like the real Bali (wooden decor on the ceiling, double doors, frangipani flowers). Set in a terraced layout, the grounds are very peaceful and it is great to get away from the hustle and bustle of the main street in Ubud. We cannot wait to visit Nick's again!!

Serene standard of excellence
Although nicks hidden cottages can be hard to find, it's location makes for a glorious serene stay away from the hustle and traffic of Ubud. It is still only a 10 minute walk into the centre. The staff are superb, and their kindness and serenity are infectious. The guests behave as though we are all at the spa. The a/c unit was inconveniently placed I room 203, so would waste a lot of energy without cooling the guests if it was hot. The weather was lovely and the pool was cooling enough. Bring earplugs for sleeping goes for all of Bali.

had 2 nights at Nicks Hidden cottages. what great value! beautiful staff, beautiful room - spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet, private and with character. Pool was good, breakfast lovely. the walk into town was easy, the staff were amazing. I couldn't believe how great this was for the price. no fridge in room, but otherwise everything you could possibly want.

The staff are lovely and helpful. The gardens and overall appearance is just what you want to see in Bali. Our room was large, but getting dated. the Shower was not good, no shower curtain or screen, so water sprayed all over floor and toilet. Toilet constantly ran and was not able to be fixed. Room had a slightly musty smell. The construction work next door was a little annoying, but not the fault of the hotel. Above all the pool was lovely and from inside the complex you could have been in jungle. I would stay again if I ever returned to Ubud.

Hotellet var slidt og trapper mv var helt tilgroet med mos. vi havde 2 værelser, hvoraf det ene var meget fugtigt og døren kunne ikke lukkes ordentlig udefra. Ok beliggenhed, dog var de ved at bygge et nyt stort hotel lige ved siden af så idyllen var lidt forsvundet.

A real "hidden" gem in the rice fields
We loved our time at this amazing hotel tucked away down a road just 10 minutes walk to the centre of Ubud but with a feeling that you are far away from all the hustle and bustle. The hotel itself is a 200 metre walk from the road through the rice paddies, but well lit at night. The staff were on the road collecting our luggage after we were dropped off before we had even taken a step, and that was a true indication of the calibre of all the staff at this hotel: super friendly, remembered our names, always happy & smiling and no request ever too much trouble for them. The hotel is beautifully set out in very traditional Balinese style, with the rooms tumbling down the slope towards the pool at the bottom surrounded by a lush garden in the rocks. We had views from our balcony down over the pool and out to the jungle beyond: very relaxing. The room was furnished with lots of gorgeous carved timber, including double timber doors opening on to the balcony. There is no TV in the room, but we thought that just made it more peaceful! There is air-conditioning, a minibar fridge, good wi-fi, and a lovely four-poster bed with mosquito net. However, the extra bed we had requested for our teenage daughter was a mattress on the floor! While she was quite happy with that, some people may not, and we thought the additional charge of 150,000 Rupiah for that was a little ,excessive, although it did include breakfast, which was always great, and served in a restaurant with wonderful views.

Agréable et tranquille
Pour notre halte à Ubud, le Nick's était parfait. Légèrement (500m) éloigné des rues hyper touristiques et animées d'Ubud et entouré de rizières il permet de bien s'y reposer avant de repartir au centre ville et environ. C'est aussi une magnifique construction s'intégrant bien au paysage et au style balinais. Le personnel est également très arrangeant pour vous organiser excursions, transports ou visites.
