"The Marmalade Hotel is in a nice location that’s just a short walk (about 1/2 mile) from the center of Portree and harbor. The property is a nice mix of an older renovated traditional structure (which houses the hotel lobby, guest lounge, and restaurant) and a new modern structure where the guest rooms are located. The property as a whole has a clean, contemporary feel and is well cared for. The rooms are clean, contemporary and modest with nice amenities. I would stay here again when I return...

"The perfect location for all of your Isle of Skye exploration. Nice staff and good clean rooms. My husband and I found the room nice with a beautiful first floor view of the grounds but a little cramped and maybe needing a little refresh. We were told it was an upgrade due to the view, however the room was next to the housekeeping closet which meant it was quite loud early in the morning. The breakfast each morning was lovely. Everyone we met on staff was really helpful and kind."

"Main issue with the property is it’s location, the state of the access road which is narrow and full of pot holes and some of the rooms. They gave us a room in the attic which was more like a closet turned into a room. The bed was small and not comfortable. We were jet lagged and woke up late so couldn’t try the breakfast, but we did try the bar which was good but overpriced."

"Im Juni 2026 für 2 Nächte geblieben - war alles perfekt. Minnie ist super, sie hat uns extra früh Früchstück gemacht, damit wir früh zum wandern gehen können. Außerdem hat sie uns extra einen Fernseher organisiert, damit wir das Schottlandspiel (WM 2026) schauen können. Absolutes Highlight war natürlich die Aussicht. Im Ort gibt es ein paar gute Restaurants aber einfach Minnie fragen; sie hat die besten Tipps. Würde jederzeit wiederkommen! :)"

"Parking situation SO Bad. No help had to drag our badge to and from our room up hill in loose stones. Rooms very small. Good views. Nice breakfast."

"A very pleasant stay. Breakfast and evening meals were particularly good. The evening meals can easily compete with any good restaurant on the island. A gem. The hotel is remote. There is a 2-mile narrow road with potholes to navigate to get to the property. Consequently, I left in the morning and returned late afternoon, spending the day on other activities. The hotel has a retreat-like quality. The sunroom is a wonderful space for rest and contemplation, or reading and games and conversation....

"Room was clean, property was well kept with thoughtful furnishings, bed was very comfortable for after a long day of walking and the host was excellent at explaining everything to us when we arrived, breakfast was absolutely delightful and the coffee was incredible!"
