"I don’t think a hotel this classy needs to lie on their Expedia page about having free parking. It’s fine that it’s a $15/night valet or find your own public parking nearby, but I don’t like being lied to. Also, I didn’t realize we’d have to exit the hotel proper and cross an alley to get to our room, but I guess that was fine since it happened to be between thunderstorms and still light out. The room was very clean and had nice amenities, but the toilet seat was loose and the shower door...

"The people at the University Plaza were great. Very pleasant and friendly. The room was not great. It's old and outdated. The bathtub was dirty and stained. It definitely needs to be replaced. There are no USB connections anywhere in the room. The carpet is worn and also in need of replacement. This used to be a great property and was one of the nicer places in Springfield at one time. Those days are in the past unless they upgrade and clean the place up a little."

"Our room was very clean and quiet. The breakfast buffet which was included with the room had everything anybody could possibly want. The staff did a great job of keeping it the right temperature and refilling any items that ran low. The coffee was delicious!!! All the staff with whom we encountered were very polite and helpful. "Worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in. There was a lot of unsavory characters out front of the hotel and several homeless wandering around. Hotel was supposed to be non-smoking. Our hallway smelled like skunk weed. The beds were hard as rocks and we couldn’t sleep on them, ended up in the chairs. Breakfast was average at best - not a lot of selection. Staff never said hi, never offered assistance with anything - front desk clerk was coloring with colored pencils when we arrived and...
