"The hotel is right of the freeway and next to a truck stop, but it's quiet. It's also next to 3 or 4 fast food joints and just down the street from a few other eat-in restaurants, so it's well situated. The morning breakfast was decent. The staff was friendly and knew the area well. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Parking was adequate. My overall stay was nice and what I needed for my stay."

Whispering Sands Motel

"I recognize that Hanksville is central to every where and close to no where. I am amazed that there are any places to stay in this small town. When I visited I usually say at the Whispering Sands Hotel. From the outside the hotel doesn't look like much. However, the rooms have been remodel and are very good. It has a good set of TV channels and the Internet is really fast. The rooms are clean and well kept. What I like is there is a desk and chair there where I can set up and use my laptop. The area is very quiet and there is an excellent burger place next door. The burger place claims to have world famous shakes, they are good. They have a small pack-n-do breakfast which I appreciate. However, there is no pool or exercise room. When I return to Hanksville, I plan to stay at this hotel."
