The room was spotless! Decorated beautifully. The very large windows are so nice. We stayed in the Law and Order room which was a corner room and it was perfect. The hosts are amazing and attentive.

The romantic suite is a beautifully designed, well maintained vintage room. We met the hotel manager, who was exuberant and helpful. The view from the room over the quaint downtown was picturesque. Location was good for walking downtown.

Best Place to stay in Valdosta - drive a few minutes off the interstate and get a much better experience than the chains. Clean, Spacious, Safe, Easy Check-in/Check-out, easy parking, great coffee shop on the first floor and nice restaurants within a few blocks in the quaint and historic downtown - STAY HERE!!

This is my second time staying at the McKey in Valdosta. This hotel is so much better than the chain hotels available here. We walked to a restaurant and to a brewery from the hotel, and the room is big enough that we were able to play board games. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Road noise at night is loud. But they do offer ear plugs to use if needed. Rooms clean and spacious. Nice restaurants and coffee shops nearby.

You come.here to relax and...

You come here to experience the town! Restored/repurposed bulding turned into a lovely hotel in the "main strett" district of town allow you to walk to restaurants and enjoy the happenings in town. Very spacious, confortable and clean rooms. Rooms are not numbered but named, add a desrving touch of B&B to the stay. Worth the detour off the interstate to slow down and relax!

The room was very clean and modern. The bed was big and comfortable. It took a bit to get used to not having a front desk person and that is the only review that got 3 stars because there was no interaction with any staff. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

I loved the vibe of The McKey. The hotel is on two floors of a restored, historical building. Everything felt modern and fresh, without losing any histoical charm. We had everything we need for our two night stay, with perhaps the exception of a kitchen towel. Not a big deal. All in all, a unique and very pleasant stay.

I have been staying in Valdosta for years visiting my daughters at VSU. I wish I had found this place sooner. We appreciated the coffee bar, the spacious room, the cleanliness. Loved having a coffee shop right downstairs. My daughter's ZTA event was in the same building, and this space is lovely. Parking was easy and safe. Would absolutely stay here again!

We loved our stay here! Small and quaint but gave great aesthetics. Walking distance from night life activities. No staff but everything was available in the hallway if you forgot anything. The BED!!!!! was so comfortable! Book the S and L suite It won’t disappoint

Wonderful historic and modern mix hotel

We loved the Mckey. Such a beautiful renovated hotel that combines history and modern style. They give you a code to access the hotel and your room however the owner who was very nice and polite received us and showed us to our rooms and brought extra towels. We are definitely coming back to this hotel. Valdosta is a quaint town for a nice weekend get away. The only reason why I didn’t give a five star on the comfort category is because there is a train that passes by the town during the night honking its horn. I wish the town would do something so that it reduces the amount of times it honks. If you are a light sleeper you will hear it. If you sleep deep you should be fine. Either way the hotel had on the hallway bags with ear plugs for free for the guests. We definitely recommend this hotel.

The retro vibe from the turn-of-the-century building makes one feel like one is in Europe. The large tub is rather nice. The simple, minimalist style is nice. The general neat appearance is inviting. To the not so good, the dusty ceiling fan blades were rather noticeable given the white, off-white, and dove gray paint shades. And the cracking paint on the window trim from paint with latex over oil is also rather noticeable. The El Paso Mexican Restaurant around the corner served tasty food; the birria tacos, an off-menu request, were excellent. We will stay here again. If vintage is your thing, then the McKey is for you. If you are looking for the Ritz, then this is a hard pass.

Good but could be better with improvements

It was a very enjoyable stay; however, there are minor improvements needed. For instance, better and more frequent cleaning is necessary, and curtains should be installed. The window in my room had a draft, so I feel they should be sealed better to ensure guests stay warm. Additionally, the door doesn’t fully feel closed, and the code to enter the building doesn’t always work. Offering a badge alternative and improving the door would enhance safety. Providing essentials like a phone charger would also be a nice touch for guests. I believe listing the room names on the website would be helpful, as I had no idea which room I was assigned. Lastly, all my outlets were upside down for some reason, which seemed odd. The good this is it generally was comfortable and the cafe downstairs helped alot

I and another quest didn't realize the rooms were names and not numbers. Had to request entrance instructions. The bed was very comfortable and towels were top quality but the toilet paper was super thin... No place to hang clothes. Very irritated having cups, coffee and fridge in the hall... Not as quiet as typical hotel... Definitely not worth the money for a self service hotel...
