"We stayed 4 to 6 th December 25 for my hubbys birthday. Got upgrades to a lovely sea view room that was amazing and had a free standing bath in the bedroom. Bar was a nice atmosphere and nice drinks and breakfast was delicious. The weather was glorious on the 4 th so had a swim in the outdoor pool which was heated and then went to sauna and indoor pool . "Atmosphere is important and the staff went above and beyond to be friendly and helpful. We went out of season so that may have made a difference to the dynamic. There was calm and peace both important to us. The breakfast was superb although I wanted to give some tips as to how to make the best scrambled eggs! You had to choose your time to use the pool as not always available but the gym was generally quiet. We are looking forward to returning next year."

"It's a rare joy to find a hotel with in room controlled aircon. I'd rebook just for that! The hotel is a grand old place and parking is a nightmare. But it's well situated with a sea walk just yards from your door and a surprisingly quiet location close to town."
