"A beautiful gem of a hotel situated on Mt. Varese, quiet and with an impeccable view of the surroundings. A great destination for a little getaway.
The building itself is old, but charming and well-kept. Our room extended across two floors, with the bedroom on the bottom and the bathroom (with a shower cell, toilet and bidet) upstairs.
The bedroom led out on a large balcony, providing a remarkable view of the mountainside and the lake. The room was clean and tidy.

Hotel is clean, only thing we did not like at the restaurant was for dinner we were served meatballs which we did not ask for and we really couldn't eat since my daughter does not eat meat, but we still got charged for it. "We loved staying in this hotel with its unique history and beautiful decor. It is a special place in a wonderful location and we had fabulous views from our balcony. The walk to Morcote took under 30 minutes with lovely views but you need to wear trainers as the path is uneven. We also enjoyed walking to the castle through the vineyards and exploring lake Lugano by bus and boat. We tended to get Uber taxi’s back up to to hotel as it was a steep climb ( cost 18CHF) "
