The hotel rooms are a bit dated but the location is amazing with beautiful views. Make sure you walk the closed Stalheimsklevia road just outside the hotel.
Anyone would be hard-pressed to find a hotel with a better view. It's just breathtaking! The hotel was gorgeous and historical. My only feedback would be that the rooms need some modernization.
Really enjoyed our stay. Very quiet and beautiful grounds.

once for the veiw
Thia hotel has one thing going for it. The views.
Other than this its like a oaps tour bus stop over with the vibe of a oaps lunc h club.
The view from our widnow was breath taking.
The view is outstanding and the hotel and lobby are beautiful. The antiques are wonderful and the museum tour was fabulous! Great food. We took the short King’s Road hike and it was fabulous! Connections to and from the hotel are well- coordinated however the 11:55 bus to catch the 1:05 Voss to Oslo train was too tight for comfort however we made it with 30 seconds to spare.
Amazing overnight stay at the Stalheim Hotel as a mid-point for our Norway-in-a-Nutshell tour. We absolutely loved the historic hotel. The lobby areas are wonderful for hanging out. Great service at the bar (as well as front desk and restaurant). We fell in love with the surrounding area - doing the hike to Nali and down the Stalheimskleiva winding road. Despite the age of the hotel, the rooms were very comfortable with nice showers and unbelievable views!

The location is tranquil and breathtaking. The restaurant was outrageously expensive and not very good at all.
Incredible location and views. The room was showing its age but everything was clean and worked properly. The lobby has a lot of great furniture and decorations with a mad men vibe. I appreciate that the staff was able accommodate our special requests and also arrange pickup and dropoff from the Stalheim Kryss bus station.
We will never forget our experience at the Stalheim Hotel. It is old world and wonderful! Walking into the room was like walking back in time. The colors, the fabrics, the furniture, and the bathroom were from another era. The beds were very cozy and comfortable. The view from our window was breathtaking. It was hard to pull ourselves away from looking out over the amazing mountains and valley below. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast in the large dining room. They offer a very large choice of delicious foods at the dinner buffet and at breakfast. The hotel also has a very nice shop which sells good quality clothing, lovely gifts, and souvenirs.

Charming hotel with incredible views. Food is average to subpar. Interior decor is subpar, particularly in the rooms. Overall location, view, ambience and service quality is really good.
Stalheim hotel is an amazing location with absolutely gorgeous views of the valley. The hotel staff was amazing as well. The bartender personally made me some mulled wine that he prepped from scratch on a particularly cold evening. Had an amazing experience that I won't soon forget.

Amazing view
View is amazing— really the main reason to stay here. Beds comfy but rooms badly in need of updating.food is pretty good. Fyi no tvs in the rooms.
Stalheim is an old school hotel with lots of interesting features. The grounds are beautiful and definitely worth checking out! It’s dated but part of its charm but some features could use updating.
It is an old hotel but very clean. Service is great. Breakfast buffet is great. Dinner buffet not as good and very expensive. Many busses come to Stalheim, some just for a "view stop" and others over night - but it is often very crowded, especially at meals. The views are stunning.
Beautiful nature around the hotel but very isolated , and transportation is not easy , there is a bus station down the hill which is 15-20 min walk , fairly steep , and difficult to do with luggage .. Staff was helpful and took us back and forth to the bus station.
Hotel on top of the mountain with 7 star view. We were given the rooms facing the mountain but we only stayed there for one night. Should have stayed longer. Good breakfast and dinner. Room was cosy and give you a nostalgic feeling. We love this hotel. Will definitely stay here again when I come back.
