"We really enjoyed our stay at Motel de la Mer in Napier. The location was excellent - close to the waterfront, cafes, and the Art Deco centre of town, making it easy to explore everything the area has to offer. The room was modern, very spacious, and clean, with a comfortable bed and thoughtful amenities. Julian was very welcoming and accommodating, and check-in was quick and easy. "Art deco design very cool. Staff friendly. Room above Irish Pub - music until 10:30 pm not so good Room TV did not work. Breakfast not available until 9am downstairs needs to be earlier for business people who eat and leave early. No parking included extra $20 - not clear at time of booking."

"Woman on reception, incredibly unhelpful and unreasonable. We made a simple request to store some frozen wagyu that we were gifted, overnight in their freezer, no deal, so we had to bin about $150 worth of meat. Apparently she has no access to the kitchen, never known a kitchen and staff fridge to be under such high security Cooked breakfast was well below average for price, wouldn’t have feed the sausages to my dogs"

"Love staying here. 3rd time now. Good value for money and it's s so handy with the bistro which has lovely food. Staff are always give great service too. The only little gripe I have this time, was the aircon had a constant whine all night but other than that still enjoyed our stay. "

"I was disappointed that it did not include servicing other than changing the rubbish bags. Beds were not remade each day and even though at time of booking it said spa baths in the unit, the spa did not work. Will not use the motel again."
