"Buffet breakfast was tepid, warm plates would have helped. Our second morning after our request they cooked it fresh to order - massive improvement. Unfortunately for our evening meal we were served undercooked batter on our fish. Restaurant staff handled brilliantly. Residences are not a part of the hotel in the main house but converted cottages, a short walk away and unlit. The toilet in the main bedroom wouldn't stop filling. Husband managed to shut it off, reported to reception next morning. Next night same occurred, we were told maintenance had gone home, luckily we managed to switch it off but making it unusable for a second night. Not really acceptable. Need a shelf for shower toiletries as they are on the floor. Second bedroom ensuite has a bath with shower over - needs a curtain of some sort as water goes everywhere.No spare pillows as one may have anticipated in the main hotel and they were quite flat. I'm sure more would have been available if we had asked again. The 'dressing table' needs a chair/stool to sit on no-one can stand to the mirror height. The heating in residence could only be set for 2 hours at a time so walked back into a cool property although the bedroom seemed to work continuously. More mugs are needed, we had to ask. Washing up liquid needs to be supplied. The property and bedlinen were spotlessly clean. No safe in the room. Spa was fine. "

"From making our room booking, adding food bookings and treatments was hassle. Getting through on the phone was just ringing out, so I tried messaging which took a week to get an unsatisfactory answer. We booked rooms and spa package but still had to pay extra to go for a swim on our arrival and then they wanted extra for slippers. The rooms are small and mediocre, we didn't have lake view thus we looked out on a golf cart. The spa was tired and a bit grubby looking, water jets barely worked, sauna and steam room were large and nice. Treatments and staff were good. First night we ate in boathouse. It was dreadful, they asked if we had dietary needs we said yes gluten but the couldn't accommodate our needs. Our foccachia never turned up. The steaks were cold and the desserts were very poor, Bill was £220 for 4 which included a cocktail each which were delicious. Next morning we had breakfast in brasserie it was superb ... huge choice and best quality. Staff were excellent and so was our afternoon tea. It could be so much better, I dont think I would recommend or make a return visit"

"Lovely comfy bed. Lovely staff. Mediocre food. Property has an unloved feel to it. Could be fixed with a ton of plants around the place but that would require some maintenance. Hilariously, there’s a notice asking residents not to climb out of the window onto the flat roof! All this does is tell me that potentially people are going to climb out the windows! This won’t stop the kind that would do it! I’d remove the sign!"

"Lift been out of action all the time we have visited over the last year, 2 tea bags could have done with at least 4 24 hour reception but had to wait 20 mins for anyone to appear to give us our room key"
