"Overall I would recommend a stay at Ella Ridge View but with a few caveats. It is a tucked away down a narrow road and a bit rough around the edges. We stayed in a room in the older building — and it wasn’t super clean. If you’re willing to look past that you will be rewarded with the best breakfast and best views. There is a family that lives on the ground floor and the staff are all very accommodating. "

"This hotel has a million dollar view! I traveled in the shoulder season, meaning peace, no other guests next to my room so i enjoyed my veranda, seeing the most gorgeous sunrises. "Disappointed that Expedia don't check the facilties claimed. There is no bar, despite the listing. As the hotel is some distance from town, it would have affected my decision to stay there. As everywhere in Sri-Lanka, the staff are friendly and helpful but the place feels a little tired and small things such as no bedside lighting are an inconvenience."

"Lovely staff, clean rooms, view of Ella valley. Difficult to find, so it's best to have driver call ahead if possible. Look for the signs pointing towards Red Rock Ella,.which is next door. "

"Staff were incredibly helpful warm and welcoming. The views were amazing from our room; from welcome area and pool area. Definitely recommend this place. The room was spacious and clean. Location was 1 km from ella so approx 500 SR to get to town (uphill!) but an easy walk ( downhill ) to get back !!"
