"Well was nervous booking, but we actually loved our couple of days stay. When booking in got a slight upgrade from two singles sea view to a family seaview(double and a single). The price we payed is what we usually pay at a Travelodge, to have a room with a lovely sea view in a magnificent building was great value. Second night after a lovely meal at an Italian restaurant nearby we returned to the hotel for a few drinks , we then went thru to the ballroom and watched an ABBA tribute act...

"If I had been told by hotels.com about the charges and difficulty with parking around The Royal Hotel Scarborough, I would not have booked at that Hotel. As it happens we sorted an alternative parking place but it would not have suited visitors who have difficulty walking. The Hotel and Staff were excellent. "

"Although we didn’t take our dog it was great to see a Hotel that welcomed them. We had a medium size sea view room which was nice however the modern lights make it dimly lite especially in the bathroom and shower where I couldn’t see which was the conditioner and shampoo and the area directly outside the bedroom windows had moss and leaves ect but these are minor things that didn’t spoil our stay and we would definitely stay again "

"I liked the hotel overall, parking wasn’t easy very small car park. The pool was shallow not brilliant for swimming. Food in the evening wasn’t the best, I had duck in a sauce which was very watery not what I expected. Breakfast was great and a nice bar to sit in . Would definitely recommend "

"Pleasant hotel, seems to be aimed at groups and coach tours but it was fine for a one night stay. Good spacious room. Bathroom ok - shower was a bit lack lustre and could have done with a lot more pressure but again, it was fine for a one night stay. We parked on the Esplanade for free and walked to the hotel (about 10 minutes) but there is a car park at the back of the hotel too if you don't mind paying. Overall a good stay for a good price.
