Nett eingerichtete Unterkunft in abgelegener Lage

Es war uns zuvor nicht bewusst, dass wir ein Zimmer ohne eigenes Badezimmer gebucht hatten - aber da wir nur eine Nacht da waren, war es ok. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet, wenn auch sehr klein. Die Besitzerin war sehr sehr freundlich, hat uns viele Auskünfte gegeben (haben sie gefragt, wo wir am besten Beachvolleyball spielen können - sie hat uns gleich was rausgesucht) Es ist etwas schwierig zu finden und da wir über den Hintereingang gekommen sind, mussten wir erst mal eine sehr steile Stiege hochgehen (da wir 3 Wochen in USA waren, hatten wir einiges an Gepäck mit).

DO NOT STAY HERE

This was not a hotel. bad neighborhood and we could not even get in to check in. no answer when we called. homeless sleeping out front and no markings on door. we drove past it 3 times. we had to pay $170 at another hotel.

Not your typical hotel.

I have very mixed feelings about how to rate this hotel. It is obvious that a lot of work went into updating the decor, the staff was extremely friendly, and the room was clean and spacious. I've also never seen a hotel TV that offered every single premium movie channel. However, I wasn't really crazy about sharing a bathroom (although it wasn't a problem). And a storefront entrance with a one floor walk up does not create the best first impression. I think it would have been a better experience if we had been staying for a few days.

This was an absolute hidden gem. From the moment you walk in (must have reservation, no street traffic), you are greeted and swept off your feet by a very personalized and constantly attentive yet unintrusive staff. Every room is different, the decor is in a league of its own as the energy flows.from one area to another. Every area has its own sounds and ambiance yet they do not compete. The artwork is all commissioned by a local artist, each piece invoking its own emotional response. this was a unique experience where one can meet new people, see a whole new level of service and maybe even leave your comfort zone for a bit by enjoying the beautiful "outside shower" overlooking downtown......seriously, you can take a shower as you watch the hustle and bustle of downtown. if you are looking for a fresh experience in a true hotel alternative all while being wowed by the service and getting lost in the detail and style of your environment, this is a must book for your trip. one night and you will not be disappointed. So leave your shell and venture away from the cookie cutter esthetics of the chain hotels. Experience luxury, style, art, and superior service of a top end resort without the same old boundaries and you will see why this is the "Upper Level"

Good stay with great staff. I loved the outdoor shower coming with room No.4. For weekend entertainment Clematis Street is just a short walk.

One Word: FANTASTIC!

I had an AMAZING time! The staff is wonderful and attentive! If you're down to trying new things like I am, you will love this place. Completely undetectable to the outside world, it's a nice place to hide out and get away. I was so pleased with my time there and I can't wait to go back!

I had the Bridge room. The only room with its own bathroom. It was extravagant! Driving up, you won't know how beautiful this place is until you get inside. It's modern, fresh, quiet and shows off its artful decorations. The hosts are fantastic and professional. They welcome you the top of the staircase whenever you come in. I felt very special

If you like homeless people in the parking lot and doorway and air conditioning that does not work, then this is the place for you. This place is more half way house than hotel. Please don't go here.

Quaint and Friendly Stay

Not a hotel for everyone...but that is what I liked about it. Many would drive up to it, take one look at the area it is in and the unusual location, and keep on driving...that would be a mistake. If you like a quaint type place, don't mind that your room might not have a bathroom, this will probably be a most memorable experience. A friendlier staff I have never run across in all my travels. This will definitely be a place I will return to.

Great rooms - Great Price - Great Staff - OK area

The place is beautiful and clean and very comfortable. It felt like my own vacation home. The neighborhood is rough but we are from Philly so we didn't care to much about it and the people were still nice and nobody bothered us. Don't hang outside at night alone. The ceiling in our room did leak on the bed after a big rain - and we had to move. The electric outlet had a brown out if you have the blow dryer and the air conditioner on. BUT all that said everything else was wonderful and I would return there definitly. Clean friendly - beds were great - bathrooms clean and though you share it doesn't matter because everyone else staying their was clean nice people and there are so many bathrooms I never had to wait. The terrace is nice to hang out on - and the dance studio under it is very nice and brings in a nice crowd to the neighborhood for dance lessons.

Pictures can deceive this hotel

Electrical power failures in building. Steep stairs, off of very busy road. Not a safe area. SHARED BATHROOM...we left and were misinformed regarding the bathroom. Too many other choices in this price range to ever consider staying here.
