The Captain Stannard

"My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Captain Stannard. The entire place was very clean and well kept. It is technically an unmanned hotel but employees do come and go occasionally. There is a sister bed and breakfast just across the street. Outside amenities are shared such as the B&Bs access to the river and kayaks. Not a problem for me but there are no TVs in the rooms. The first floor has several very large sitting areas and a section with cute french chairs and tables to eat the provided continental breakfast. Coffee is put out at 7am. There is also a Keurig coffe machine there at is always available. Nice porch with outside seating. The yard didn't specifically have any lawn furniture but there were a few plastic chairs stacked in the corner. Fairly short walk to the beach."

"This hotel is a good bargain. Although worn down in general, it suited our needs for one night. Very comfortable bed, quiet, and good buffet breakfast. Near shopping and the highway so convenient too."

"The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The room was nice appointed and decorated nicely as well. It was comfortable and clean, and in a very convenient location for my stay. I would definitely book this hotel again in the future."
