"Bar closes at 11pm. Refused me service from 10.40pm but continued serving others. And no, I was not intoxicated. I had been told the bar was closing evidently. The latecomers had not. They were still there when I returned from the local pub. You are supposed to aspire to something adult, young lady (bar manager) and being a Karen is not being adult."

"First room was dirty. Moved rooms, needed linen changed on bed, took 1.5hrs for assistance. Very minimal water pressure and hot water."

"It is a lovely and charming heritage hotel that is extremely comfortable with spacious rooms and is in a prime location. Staff are extremely helpful and welcoming - they were truly exceptional. The bathroom was a good size but some of the fittings have worn with time and there are a few things we feel were missing from the tea and coffee station. Overall a very enjoyable stay and we look forward to our next visit."

"Room was clean on arrival but the service clean the next day was lacking. Left dirty towels behind our door and new hand towel left had yellow stains all on it. Didn’t clean kitchen.. minor things. I stay here whenever I’m in Brisbane for the convenience, easy parking and nice rooms."

"Great little hotel, staff are super friendly and always willing to help. Room itself was great, clean and just what you need. There is some works taking place on the corner but it wasn't too bad. Parking is a bit steep though so watch out for that but with the good rate for the room it all worked out quite good."

"We were not advised that the hotel was undergoing works so no lobby, no place to chill (we had family room) and the room curtains did not block out light. Very noisy works early in morning. Location was good but not in centre of Southbank, esp if you haven’t been to Brisbane before. Staff friendly but manager not overly helpful. We stay at many Novotels and I would not recommend this one."
