"Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The young woman who checked us in was very helpful and courteous. A satisfying breakfast was available each morning. The parking lot and all entryways were very well lit. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area."

"The Elk Inn is conveniently located in Elkin, a nice town with a few dining options. The motel is a two-story standard motel with convenient parking. I was there for a few nights. The bed was comfortable and the heater worked fine. But the motel is very long in the tooth. Feels old and a bit neglected. Electrical outlets are very inconvenient, and one was connected in line with a light switch. The TV system was inscrutable. The bathroom facility was ok, but the operator seemed to think that one roll of toilet paper was ok for 4 nights. No backup. There was a very dead roach on the floor, making me think I was walking on a layer of insecticide. The lower floor is not very private. Overall, I found this place to feel really old and not up to the standard for a weary traveler, expecting comfort and modernity. I would not return unless nothing in the area was available. The desk staff was friendly and helpful."
