The best part of the location of this was the convenience of the hotel to the downtown area. The first night after driving 8 hrs was interrupted by a fire alarm that was triggered by steam from the shower in another room at 2 am in the morning. Guests were forced to leave our rooms and stand outside in the rain until the fire department gave an all clear to re-enter the hotel. The pool and fitness area was closed due to renovations. Non of these was reflected on the website and was very misleading. Parking was controlled by the city and fees were charged upon every exit. The room had broken furniture and very poor lighting. Again, I understand renovation but certain things should have been made clear on the website regarding the facilities amenities. I would have chosen a different location had I been aware.

Staff were wonderful! The bar was great and food was very good. The room was very nice and overall, the entire stay was delightful. The only thing noted that was iffy was the amount of air freshers used. There were overwhelming scents in the hallways and common areas.

I have stayed at this hotel several times and the stays were absolutely amazing. Room nicely decorated and clean friendly staff. This time however the first room I was assigned to had dirty walls and none of the lights worked properly on the lamp stand or the bathroom. When I reported this to the front desk while asking for a room transfer the first thing he asked was if it was because of the lights not working which tells me the hotel is aware of these issues. The second room was only slightly better. Table moved from the wall like it was not meant to be there. Temperature adjustments didn’t work either. It was not the room I chose off line. Very, very bad experience this time. I don’t think I’ll stay at that doubletree again. Just terrible.
