"The hotel is in very poor condition and highly dilapidated. It is not very clean, quite neglected, and lacks proper maintenance. The smoke detector in the room was covered with a plastic bag—possibly by a previous guest who smoked and wanted to prevent it from going off, or perhaps because it was broken. This hotel should be shut down and completely renovated."

"Newly renovated, clean, and quiet and it’s a 2 minute walk to the beach. Excellent communication from booking to checkout. Tons of parking and so convenient to the heart of Surf City. Had everything we needed for a weekday getaway to the beach. Will be back for a longer stay next time."

"The staff were helpful and professional. They were attentive to your needs. The breakfast could be better. The grits did not taste like grits. They tasted as if they were mixed with cream of wheat. The sausage did not taste like sausage. Additionally, the hotel should have lotion in the rooms. It has refillable containers with shampoo, conditioner and hand soap. It should add a container with lotion. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return when we have an opportunity to do so."

"My daughter and two grand children enjoyed our stay. It was clean and the staff was great and the ease into the room was more efficient than using cards with access personal to us. This will be our “go-to” going forward. It was also close to everything and with two pools, you couldn’t ask for better accommodations."
