The place was closed and looks like it has been for quite sometime. The outside was run down and litter all over. We drove 5 hours to get there and even had a confirmation number from hotel. Com. Very disappointed!!!!!!

Victorian style was nice. Dinner was special. Bed was soft
Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Bar atmosphere in the hotel was nice. We were there on live music night. Bed in room 205 slept great.

Used to love staying here because its character outweighed the funkiness and minor chaos. But prices are up and staffing is reduced to one poor overworked person who had to clean rooms, tend bar and take orders in the pub (dining room never opened and the free continental breakfast never happened). Was not able to check out and make sure bill was correct because staffing that morning was zero. Never did find a human to ask about the bill, so hope when I check my credit card charges it is correct.

Quaint but needs breakfast improvement.
I have stayed here before about two years ago and looks to be about the same. It is a bit run down looking but quaint. It is on a quiet street in the middle of town. The charming little breakfast is not as good as it once was and pretty much a small uninspired continental breakfast and did not serve any hot food such as eggs. It just seems as no effort was presented to make breakfast slightly appealing. I think for $100 plus a night this was in order.
This was our 6th stay at this lovely hotel. The place is full of antique artifacts and the staff are always kind and helpful. We stayed Christmas eve and absolutely loved their traditional Christmas eve dinner. Their fabulous cook Chris has been there for many many years! Highly recommend!

Very historical room decor, kinda takes you back in time.
Lovely old hotel that needs some tender loving care. Squeaky hinges, old carpet, no elevator, sinking seats in furniture and loud somewhat uncomfortable bed. Continental Breakfast was very basic but great coffee cake.

The room I reserved (queen bed, bathroom) was not available. We were put in a room with a small bed with a terrible mattress (as bad as a lumpy, cheap fold- out couch), no cold water in shower (only hot), and no hot water in sink. For our second night we were moved to a nice room with two beds and both hot and cold water.
I hate to leave a bad review but here it is. This is a cute, historic hotel. The bar is great, the staff was friendly. The things that got to me was that they didn't have a shower stall in the room (bath tub only), there was hair on the blankets that wasn't mine and the heat didn't work. The internet was spotty and the breakfast was minimal, at best. It was a cute place but it wasn't ideal for business travelers. I wasn't comfortable. Also, it was expensive for what I feel it was. I would recommend the food at the bar inside - the pot pie was awesome. The town is cute, too. I enjoyed walking around. The location is excellent.
Traditionshotel im viktorianischen Stil. Nicht unbedingt praktisch für einen Kurzaufenthalt aber ein Highlight für die Augen...
Sehr freundlicher Service, unbedingt zu empfehlen.

After ringing the bell twice at the front desk, i decided to call the hotel from the front desk (!) so we could have someone check us in!
Unique decor. Peeling paint, hugely cracked wall, blinking light fixture, no towels, long wait for clerk to come to check in, no one opened up in the morning for breakfast, so we unlocked the front door and left hungry. Sooo disappointed after having high hopes of immersing in history.
very old hotel was a hospital in 1902, full of old art, plates, stuff. Charming however, first room no sound on TV, changed us to a much larger, nicer room, hot water faucet didn't work. Restaurant was excellent, staff very helpful and concerned. good continetal breakfast. Would stay again due to charm and staff.
We loved the style of the room. We were happy to see 2 eating establishments on site. The jetted tub worked perfectly. The only thing we did not like at all was the wi-fi coverage. There wasn't any in our room or the main building. It appeared that there was free wifi, but it never worked because of poor signal strength.

Mixed service
Was greeted by a lovely lady that was also tending the bar and restaurant. She gave excellent service. The next morning there was no coffee, no one Maning the desk and I had to unlock the front door to get out. Left the key on the front desk.
It is a great old Hotel and I have stayed there before. Probably would go back.
We spent my husband's birthday weekend at Hotel Strasburg. It is a unique and beautiful building filled with nostalgia. The hotel houses two restaurant options - we only had time to try the fine dining one, which was excellent, but the pub looked really good too. Our queen bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was clean, the shower was hot with great pressure, the staff was very friendly and accomodating. The hotel is within walking distance of everything downtown Strasburg has to offer. We did the historic Strasburg walking tour, and also visited nearby Belle Grove Plantation and Cedar Creek Battlefield. The only very minor downside was the small TV in the room, but we didn't come for the TV anyway so it wasn't a big deal. We would definitely return!

One night at Hotel Strasburg
We spent one night at Hotel Strasbourg as we were passing through the area. We didn’t know how far we would get that day so waited to reserve a room until a few hours before arriving. The property looked very interesting and we were looking forward to arriving. However, when we got there the woman at the front office seemed to have some trouble finding our reservation at first. Then she assigned us to a third floor room. (We wondered why we had been given a room way up there since the hotel didn’t appear to have many occupants. When we got up there, the room was stifling hot! We immediately turned on the air conditioner and after a couple of hours it was cool. Then we noticed that there was only one towel in the bathroom. We had to call down for more towels and a pleasant staff person brought them right up. When we turned down the bedspread, I noticed a prominent stain on the side of the exposed box springs. It looked like a blood stain. That was pretty off-putting! The queen bed mattress was rather stiff but okay. Overall I was not impressed with this hotel and would not return or recommend.
I booked a room with two double beds which was important because I am recovering from recent surgery and sharing a bed is difficult. Upon arrival we were told the room pictured at time of booking was not available. We were given a smaller room with no price adjustment.
