"Proper old English pub feel and atmosphere right in the heart of Winchester. Staff very helpful, friendly and clearly well trained. Food was excellent and of good value."

"We enjoyed a lovely dinner at the inn after we checked into our room. There are lots of stairs so we brought in only what we needed from the car and suitcase for the one night stay. The shower water was way too hot so my husband did not take a shower. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable, room was quiet, and we enjoyed our stay. We did not have breakfast at the inn the next morning."

"The property is timber framed and old, really old. Cleanliness and condition is very good but this building needs constant maintenance. We loved it, it’s very old and full of history. Very cute little town, very nice surroundings. We hit it in the middle of a heat wave and there is no AC, in fact there’s likely no AC in most of the village but the normal temperature does not require it. We were just unlucky. "Quaint property with rooms in the main building and in an outer building across a patio with table seating where we had a quiet, well-equipped, modern room. The Inn is a short walk to a scenic marsh and pond with fish/eel traps and a bench for savoring the peaceful view. The town of Stockbridge, about a mile away, is wonderful for window shopping (and purchasing!) and is the start of a beautiful picturesque 'marsh walk' through grazing cows and lovely pastures. "Charming old manor house built in the 1700s. We actually had the room the was formerly the stables! So cute and endearing! Single lane road covered with trees. Great for walks. A beautiful church and old cemetery behind the house. A Pub and a restaurant. Gorgeous new bathroom. As for amenities I did not give 5 stars due to lack of places to put a suitcase and cosmetics. Pedestal sinks look nice but they don't offer place to even set a toothbrush."
