"The owner is extremely friendly; accommodating as well! He explained the rules very clearly. Very organized and straightforward guy. I pride myself as a cleanliness critic and I found the room in excellent condition; clean and well taken cared of. Security locks are solid. I was there with my wife and we felt safe there. Plenty of parking and is in a quiet area so no rowdy people around. I would definitely recommend this place!!!"

"These comfortable clean rooms are very reasonably priced. Yes they are kind of 1970s in their many brown colors however we're in a historic part of New York so there's lots of older things to check out that are fascinating. The staff is super helpful and friendly. And I met any nice people just coming on in there. The beds are very comfortable and the shower has good water pressure. The breakfast is good for that kind of food. I would definitely stay here again!"

"Second time staying here while fishing in the area. Another great stay at the Tailwater and already have plans to come back this winter. Staff are all genuinely nice and everyone does their jobs well. "

"Tim is a wonderful host! He is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were exceptionally clean. The windows give you plenty of privacy during the day while the curtains are drawn letting in natural light. They have a fire pit and even supply wood for it. If you have no interest in building a fire there is also a propane one on the property surrounded with the comforts of patio furniture. Although it is located off the main road, it is very peaceful and welcoming. There is a laundry facility, a place to store your prizes from fishing, and a propane grill to cook up any food you'd like. It is not a pet friendly hotel HOWEVER there is a boarding house just down the road if traveling with your fur babies. We've stayed on two different occasions and 110% will return. To be honest I didn't want to write this review because deep down I wanted to keep this hidden gem to ourselves. This is a prime location to stay whether fishing, four-wheeling or snowmobiling as it is located conveniently on the trails. "

"Seriously one of my favorite hotels ever! So quaint. The rooms were very spacious and beautifully decorated. Self-service breakfast station on each floor was super convenient. And when our group wanted to play a board game, we were sad to find there was no lounge or lobby area but we were graciously provided a staff room that we could play in! "
