Old southern charm, but with emphasis on the old— our room was as clean as housekeeping could possibly make it, but the carpet had large stains, shower door can’t stay shut, paint on bathroom ceiling and parts of walls cracked and peeling. Tile missing on bathroom floor. Brilliant location right in historic district because hotel is pretty much the historic anchor (former exclusive millionaires club built at end of 19th century). "There was no one at the desk at check in, about 7 PM. I waited 5 to 10 minutes before someone showed up. After an 8 hour drive, that was not appreciated. "

"Room was dated and mold in tub and walls of bath. Curtains did not keep huge lights outside from shining into room. Dining table was dirty at bfast. Food was fine and plenty to choose from. As a Hilton Member this one was not a great stay and there are many more choices across both sides of hiway. Would not stay here again."

"Great hotel for the money, BUT breakfast starting at 7AM on weekends is a problem for those of us who want to get on the road early. This is a tourist area and breakfast should start at 6AM every day, not just M-F. I felt I was a hostage for an hour where I should have been an hour down I-95 by the time they opened breakfast. Not a big deal, but a dealbreaker for me."

It would have been nice if they had some complimentary coffee in the lobby to take up to your room. you could sit out on the balcony and enjoy the view from your room."
