"This hotel was perfect for us. It was in great proximity to everything we needed. Super close to Union Square. The cable car is right there. And BART etc. It is an old building but well kept. Clean. Nice friendly staff."
"Worth every penny to stay in this classic SF hotel that happened to be a stone’s throw from a concert we attended at The Masonic. The staff are particularly attentive and helpful. Even the eye-watering cost for valet parking didn’t really sting in this neighborhood."
"The best of the seven hotels we stayed in on our West Coast road trip. Amazing breakfast, super helpful team of staff, perfect nights sleep... great location away from the main city centre."
"Really outstanding stay. We arrived several hours early and decided to see if by any chance our room was ready ahead of check-in. It was, so we were able to get unpacked early - no fuss. Great view of Bodega Bay from our very spacious room. Though we didn't jump in the pool, it was situated in a location that really ameliorated most of the coastal winds that can make pools really chilly places, and the water seemed to be quite warm despite the cool temperatures prevailing. The restaurant is across Highway 1, which is not as daunting as it sounds - many people probably walked, but our old bones preferred to hop in the car for a 3 minute drive. Food was fine and the staff was very pleasant. The attached fish market/deli is excellent"
"We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is a bit older and could use some updating . The fan in our bathroom didn’t work so that made it hard to clear out the steam from showers. Also, the sink area was very small so having 4 people try to get ready for the day was frustrating.
Breakfast was good, but they cleared it out right at 9:30am every day, so I saw a few people bummed they couldn’t get cereal or coffee or anything. The breakfast area was clean and updated but it got very crowded.
The front desk staff was always friendly and helpful and the room was relatively quiet. But even on the top floor, we could hear quite a bit of street noise. The views made up for it though. Overall it was a good experience. We would stay here again."
