"This hotel is nice enough but needs investment and to examine its pricing structure. It looks and feels dated. Everything was 'okay'. Clean with good staff, but the food and rooms were average at best and extremely overpriced. The most annoying thing for me was that a pint of lemonade and lime was more expensive than any of the pints of beer. That is simply wrong. I had an Executive Room. "Visiting family in Reading so location was perfect. Plenty of parking and free of charge. Room was basic, clean apart from dust on bed frame and dressing table. Lovely clean white bed sheets and big white fluffy bath towels. Plug hole on sink and bath needed a good scrub. Reported to reception that the shower water was not flowing away very well and also when boiling the kettle steam was escaping onto the handle. Husband had breakfast, plenty of choice and good quality. We paid £55 in total...

"Although my room was small it had everything you could need for a stay. The choices for breakfast were poor. I have a sulphite intolerance so I couldn’t have anything with grape based products in. Many of the cereals were therefore out for me and the rest were more for children. No fresh fruit apart from a fruit salad which also has grapes in it. All the staff were great and very helpful. Drinks in the bar a bit overpriced but plenty of choice. Generally we enjoyed our stay."
