"I was in town for a concert that my daughter was in at Duke University. I booked through Expedia. Nowhere on the hotel's website or in additional details on Expedia is it said that there will be an additional $100 fee for incidentals. I was not prepared to need that and although it caused a bit of frustration, the front desk person was great and understood my frustration. "While this hotel clearly has the potential to be a nice property, our recent stay was marred by cleanliness and safety issues.
Starting with the room, the hotel is under renovation but our room was noticeably dated and not adequately cleaned. Furthermore, the hot water was barely lukewarm We also noted that the first floor consistently smelled of marijuana; fortunately, our room on the third floor was spared.

"The room was large and spacious. The complimentary breakfast and good. There was a nice courtyard for sitting. The pool area looked well maintained, however, we didn't stay long enough to enjoy it. Overall, it was a great stay for the price."

"This place could be something amazing. Looks like a massive property that was put in the wrong place. It could use a bit of upkeep here and there but by far and away the best value I have paid for a hotel. This place is significantly underrated. There has to be a story here I have not found, something happened and they are now limping along. Overall great stay"

"Nice hotel but a few issues. Air conditioner was not working in our room so they sent someone to look at twice before moving us. Picked this place because of the pool and it didn’t even open till 12 because of cleaning.
Breakfast was nice and people were friendly"
