"While the room was technically as described, it was very old. We were on the third floor and had an "ocean view," however this just meant a small sliver of ocean in the distance. The curtains for the balcony didn't close all the way meaning that your intimate activities are seen by the entire outside (we used a clothespin to hang them together). The worst part was the noise. The walls seem paper-thin. We could hear small children yelling and people walking right outside our room at 7am waking...

"Amazing staff and perfect family hotel for exploring Hollywood. Free sodas, ice cream, snacks and of course the legendary popsicle hotline. Nice to have a room with microwave and oven so we could cook for ourselves (there is a Target 10min walk away). Rooms are looking a little tired but that shouldn’t impact the overall experience."

"Room 117 was not in the building pictured in their marketing, in fact it wasn’t even the same color (peach). It was the forgotten building in the back by the trash cans. The pool was nice but no chairs or loungers to sit on. The room was clean and large, with a nice view but could not pivot TV, no plastic cups for the pool, no extra towels, nothing. All this is fine if you actually have a front desk to ask these things from."

I’d say the only downsides for me is that there’s too many locks throughout the property (a total of 4 to go through before you can enter your room - 1 at the main entrance, 2 to enter the building and 1 to enter the room) and since there’s no on-site staff you have to message them on Expedia and wait for a response and they can be a little slow).
