What is the saying? “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.” From the exterior, this place is a little run down. Obviously the hotel has been around for many years. Entrances to rooms are outside, which is also old-school. Along with this, the lobby is dated in appearance.
Now for the good news. They have 24 hour staff and they are very friendly. The interiors of the rooms appear to have been updated. The mattress and bed pillows in my room were good quality. The room was clean. The showerhead delivered a nice spray and there was plenty of hot water. There is a complimentary breakfast which is basic but not fancy. Surprisingly good, coffee, juice, cereal, bagels and make your own waffles. Not much in the way of protein or fruit. But hey, the price is reasonable. Location is good. In Colonie, between Albany and Schenectady and close to a major shopping mall and plenty of restaurants and retail spots. Also a quick drive to the airport. Good for a night’s stay when you have had last minute changes to your travel plans.
