"A nice hotel to stay in. We had a view over the lake which was lovely. Our room was large, comfortable and very clean. The staff were efficient. They did a good job of managing all the people in a quick and courteous way. Breakfast was very good."
IMLAUER Palais Mirabell
8/10 Good
"Not a spa hotel and doesn’t have a pool, but a very comfy and stylish hotel in an excellent location on Mirabellaplatz (near the Mirabella Pslace and gardens. 10 mins walk to the old town. Breakfast is excellent with generous buffet. Staff very helpful too. They changed our room from one near the lift to a different one at our request (we had a 3 year old with us). Beware that there seems to be a room that wraps around the lift too - that must be a bit noisy. Our Palais Suite on first floor (room 111) was excellent and despite being a corner room with dusk aspect over roads was completely soundproofed from the road noise (they were not very busy either). It was not as soundproofed inside and we had 2 nights of heavy banging from the room above (we think) but it stopped before proper bed time. Buses to some tourist locations, accessible with the Salzburg (free) mobility card left from the bus stops over the road. Our only issue was that the (excellent) shower flooded the bathroom after 3 minutes in it - the drain being either blocked or insufficient for the flow of water. We told the hotel about it twice but nothing solved it. There was also a leak from above down the wall outside our room (thankfully not in it!) and I did wonder if the same had happened to someone on the floor above But all round very good."
