A great little B&B and a fantastic little pub. The room was warm and comfy. The pub was traditional, just as a pub should be. Excellent service too.

Shivering at night
I interpreted "free parking" to mean there was a hotel Car Park - but there was not. This is misleading - however the street parking was very convenient so it was not a huge issue. BUT it was a cold late September night because of high atmos. pressure and there was no heating in our room. Despite the quite thick duvey we had an uncomfortable night. Breakfast was good
Stayed in room 8. There was black mould on the on the ceiling , mould on the bottom shower trim, no plug in the bathroom, the water from the tap only tricked..
There was cobwebs in the room , the window didn't close. There was thick dust on the top of the wardrobe and on the top of the 4 poster bed, only one side lamp was plugged into an electrical socket, there was no mattress protector and the mattress was 4 inches from the headboard.i was not given the wi fi password so I couldn't use their internet. The best thing was the breakfast
The place is lovely. Over 500 years old. Fantastic court area. And staff was very friendly and helpful. The room i thought i booked wasnt the same on the pictures
Advertised fridge in rooms. None had them. The manager sorted a different room for us which we was very happy with. He did agree with us that the picture was very miss leaning. That was on hotel.com
Breakfast was very good and we had a meal there too which was excellent. We stayed in room 10. Which was big and lovely. Some of the other reviews where not good. But its a 500 years old. We loved the character of the building. We booked 2 nights as we went to harry potter studios which is only a 15 mins drive from there. There is no parking. Only on the street. Which gets full.
We were allocated a room in very poor condition. Thankfully we managed to get a swap to a much better room for the same price.

The heating in the rooms needs a major improvement, i have never felt so cold in my life!! When I woke up this morning I was shivering. I had breakast in the bar, but the food was cold before I could eat half of it.
Awful experience. This was the worse place we have ever stayed. Rude staff. Mould and damp in the room. It was freezing. Said they would put the heat on until 1am and we got in at 11.30pm and it wasn’t on. They also said it would be on in the morning at 6am but it wasn’t on at 7am. Dirty all over. I have no words.
Lovely staff but bad product. Bathroom needs a deep clean, taps faulty, shower dirty. TV didn’t work and every time a tap was used downstairs the pipe work screamed in the bedroom. Can’t comment on food as did not try. Overall needs a really good clean, sadly would not stay again.

Shabby, but not chic!! AVOID. The room was absolutely freezing and the heating went off at midnight. Not acceptable for December with a thin duvet an no blankets. The fixtures and fittings are tired, broken. The cups in the room had dirty water in them when we arrived. The bathroom tiles had mould and the whole room smelt mouldy . I opened the wardrobe door and the mirror on the front of it literally fell off and hit me. I noted the other wardrobe door had already been boarded up, so clearly the other mirror had already fallen out. At breakfast we were told by the chef that only two breakfasts could be cooked at one time as he only had a small pan and it was full English or nothing. People were sat waiting - for ages - ridiculous. The bar staff in the evening had a debate and checked all the half empty crusty bottles on a rickety old shelf as they’d never heard of amaretto. The limited parking advertised on the website means driving up and down the road to find a non resident parking place - which there wasn’t.
We stayed at the Saracens Head for two nights. The room was clean and spacious; the food and service were excellent and the staff were all very friendly. We would definitely stay here again
If you're looking for an experience from 1530 this is the place for you. Staff were pleasant and nice to work with - the "full english breakfast" was great.
The room was not thoroughly cleaned and several areas dusty - an old grape stalk was found under the curtains.
The tiny bathroom was in need of a remodel, the toilet took a long time to fill, the shower head was held in zip ties and the sliding door (although repaired many times) was in need of replacement and wouldn't close.
A hair dyer was not provided - when we opened a drawer we thought we'd found one but this was a finial from the 4 poster bed. Although cool the 4 poster bed was too large for the room and creaked with every movement.
Lastly parking is not provided and finding street parking in this busy town was difficult.
A very brief, but, enjoyable stay. As a regular traveller for business, everything was just as I expect it to be. The only negative is that the free parking is (at most) 100 yards along the street. No problem if the weather is not bad, and, you don't have heavy bags.

Good pub
Old and basic but clean. Very noisy if you stay in a room by the courtyard Unless it's raining when people will stay inside). The pub itself is great, and good food and service.
A very warm welcome, an authentic old English Inn style accommodation. Very friendly staff, great full English Breakfast, comfy beds, large room. Owner flexible on checkout time really helpful.
