"Loved the historical charm of the Palace! The room was a little small - couldn’t open the wardrobe all the way because it was too close to the bed. The bathroom was a good size. But the plumbing needs to be updated - the water pressure in the bathroom sink starts strong but then quickly weakens; the water in our sink smelled and tasted like old metal. "Staff were helpful, the room was clean and parking was on site which was nice. The grounds around the hotel were quite nice which had many orange and lemon trees loaded with fruit. Pool was being cleaned when we were there and we would not go into the pool even though staff said that we could. It was quite dirty. The hotel is about a 20 minute ride into the heart of Coimbra. We would recommend a taxi or Uber since parking is very hard to find in Coimbra. "
